  1. Sorry to hear that, mate. But join the sad parade? What sad parade?
  2. That's an impressive collection. Somehow he and his works never came into my life.
  3. Apparently someone's feelings got hurt. Nobody seems to know whose feelings though. I've never read Winnetou in my life.

  6. It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realise who you are after the name change.

Calling the trunk of a car a boot is still silly though.

Nice, but that's baking, not cooking.
  10. Preparing for life in prison, huh? Somehow I'm not surprised.

  13. I love Finns. Met plenty when I traveled, and I was also in a Finnish online team for some football game. I'd say 99% of the stereotypes you hear about Finns are true. And this joke is perfect too: Two Finnish men, Jukka and Pekka, go ice fishing. They fish in silence for a long while and eventually Jukka asks "So how are things?" Pekka doesn't answer and they continue fishing in silence for some more hours. Then Jukka asks, "So how is the family?" At this Pekka gets angry, stands, up and shouts "Did we come here to talk or to fish?!"

  16. Ooooh nice. I was always staying in a small town called Tucepi that is not far away from Makarska. Next time I go to Croatia, I'll probably stay in Makarska as well. Lovely little town, but not too little. Nice promenade, good restaurants and bars. And as you said, a good place to reach other destinations. Dubrovnik is definitely worth seeing, but when I was there in 2019, it was soooo packed, and very expensive compared to other Croatian cities. I've been to Hvar, Brac and to Krka as well. Can't go wrong with that! I'd add Mostar to the list. It's in Bosnia & Herzegovina, but easy to reach if you have a rental car or probably easily bookable for an excursion. Lovely little town with a lot of history. Well, most of it had to be rebuilt as it was destroyed in the Balkan Wars, but they stayed very true to the original. And other than that, I'd also say Zadar, Split and Sibenik are worth a visit. And for something "nearby" to have a stroll on the beach or see a lovely little town I'd also recommend Baska Voda. Only drove through there when the bus took me back to the hotel, but it looked very nice.
  17. The only suspicious thing is that she's being almost too social for a Finn.

Not the greatest pic. But made a simple but yummy pasta tonight. Mini-Penne, with spinach, ricotta, tomatoes and roasted pine nuts.
  19. Where in Croatia? I've been to Croatia 8 times. 7 times as a kid, and then in 2019 again for the first time since 1997. One of the most beautiful places I've been to so far. Many spots have become VERY touristy though, especially Dubrovnik ever since they shot Game of Thrones there. Very expensive too.
