  1. Fair point about the hangover from Sarri. Thought Lampard wanted to play with a back four though could not get the signings and the personnel were not suited to it. He seemed to lose the plot in the 2nd season as soon as how he would sort one issue and another flared up.
  2. I wonder if Americans really travel that much these days outside the Americas except the Corporate bigwigs and military.
  3. Dorries was a major shock getting into the cabinet. As for the others, the public can vote them out at the elections it has certainly happened post Brexit on both sides. If they are relay unpopular or the govt changes tack they can resign and take a back seat for a term or two and perhaps get a second chance.
  4. Lampard had a pre-season with the players not sure mid season that would work so well. Haven't followed Rooney's managerial path.
  5. I doubt he speaks honestly about his teams selections and subs, all part of deflecting from the media and keeping up squad morale. I really think we needed Mount and Havertz to come on against City yet don't know his reasons for not changing. Were they off form in training or niglging injury risks or just manager miscalculation. I was once sitting in the Benches at SB (rather than the Shed) and we had an ageing Steve Clark at LB losing 0-1 and a younger Clive Wilson on the bench. In the 2nd half I started up a chant for Clive Wilson and several minutes later he came on. He played ok and we got an equaliser. Never know if these were related yet perhaps I prompted a prevaricating Bobby Campbell to make a change. Not sure that happens today in the grounds.
  6. Some of these protests risk serious injury like on motorways and tubes. They can all petition their MPs and march at Hyde Park etc and advocate for political change via new parties or supporting parties. It seems some think it will be the end of the world next week if their pet protest is not successful and think that gives them the right to inconvenience others going about their daily transport activities to pay their bills. The HoL can delay legislation so the HoC normally has to look at recommendations and normally amend or drop. Very rare for the HoL to push back twice.
  7. I liked him in Shane though didn't realise he was that short.
  8. No I've been on political forums its been brewing for a while in the public and people not paying the license being prosecuted. There is a lot more choice today and I don't think the BBC will disappear just need to amend their offering. Also if people believe they take a political position at least they know they won't be directly subsidising it.
  9. The timing of this is certainly political. Yet when nearly every other British company has lost its monopoly why should the BBC be any different? I'm sure the good content would be bought by other media outlets. Some minority groups might lose out yet surely it is up to those minority groups to get together using social media to form self-interest groups. That's the way I see it anyway.
  10. The thing is the movie industry is so scared of not making money they will employ a pint-sized celebrity over an unknown bearing a greater similarity to the real character. A shame yet there it is.
  11. This is what I mentioned before
  12. Yes it is a hangover from the days of Empire and provides a lot of content and has some decent material. If the BBC is forced to become self funding you would expect it to cut a lot of services and programs or allow advertising. On the advertising front I do notice these days how they use time to self promote as in adverts for their own programs. Assuming it happens, I expect a stealth tax somewhere else,
  13. Yes it was funny when Lampard beat Jose at Spurs.

    Cooking

I tried it 25 years ago after reading lots of health books. Eating mushrooms, beans and grated vegetables etc. I just got more bloated than ever and eventually went back to a meat based diet. What I would say is if you can tolerate it, it is a good idea. Though doing it in Northern Europe is harder as there is less naturally ripe produce available. Typical argument is about Vitamin B12 deficiency though in societies that are vegetarian this does not stand out. The gut can synthesise Vit B12 through healthy gut bacteria. Forget it though if you eat sugar as this just feeds the bad stuff and there is sugar even in cooking sauces not just the obvious places. If you want the tasty sugar sauces or other sugar snacks you can always try Vit B supplementation or add dairy products.
  15. Interesting to see if they had waited a week Benitez would have met Gerard in the dug out. Big Dunc fired Everton up for Chelsea last time there was a change. I can remember that as were having a strange season where we seemed to be saving all the clubs in trouble and they turned us over in a feisty match. They have winnable games against Villa, Brentford and Newcastle. Big Dunc's motivation might work for the first two though by Newcastle you would expect someone to have been appointed. Martinez might well be the new man, the clever move might be to look at and up and coming manager at a Scottish club outside the old firm. Don't see the latter happening.
  16. They all look rather well built for a game about speed is there a wrestling element to this?
  17. He used to be called the Ginger Mourinho a few seasons back and perhaps the media expectation was he would move on to bigger clubs. Burnley are an unusual club for me they do not seem to bother about results until after the fourth round of the FA Cup and then getting a few results to keep them up. Not sure if that is down to him or other factors. Makes me doubtful he will be in the running for Everton.
  18. Looking forward to see how Villa do the rest of the season. Think Gerard will be the best English manger of his generation. Neither Digne or Coutinho are top drawer signings yet do have ability and should strengthen the side.
  19. The Queen does not get involved in politics just gives consent for a new government. Johnson's threat comes from his own side, a lot think he has gone OTT with the virus and now seen he has been judged to be duplicitous with work parties as the self employed were losing their jobs due to lockdowns the political classes were seen to be ignoring, Party also annoyed by N.I increases with inflation higher. Andrew Neill said a couple of years ago that Bojo was a weather vane takes the opinion of whoever has his ear. Now is he forced out or does he twist?
  20. Surprising if true, the Serbs in Bosnia would not stand with Serbia after the conflicts so don't see this spreading beyond Bosnia.
  21. Newcastle are somewhat of a mess just now, new boy Trippier starts and they manage to lose to Cambridge. Now they only have the league left and that will be a battle for survival. For me they need three decent players, Trippier was one they need another two though doubt that will happen.
  22. Agree, I think he will be good for you and reminds me of Fabregas moving to Chelsea. Though still logically a gamble.
  23. The electrical potential in fresh fruit can power small electrical bulbs. I bought my daughter a science kit to demonstrate this.
