  1. Yes a reasonable point about population density in Sweden. I know they like the coffee there and through fasting ( I have iBS) i have found my IBS likes tea and coffee yet not peppermint tea. Make of it what you will. Re the US I notice often they have the budget that needs to be passed to pay federal employees and it becomes a political football. Can't see that happening here there would be major protests if they ever tried.
  2. It was torrential rain for hours last night in South London. From about 6pm until 2am. Went out at 3am and filled up with petrol, almost deserted. Still paid for it this morning.
  3. Find it interesting the Geordies have been told not to dress like Arabs, don't recall any of that when Abramovich came to Chelsea with people buying Russian type hats and things. Is there a real issue or is it just smoke and mirrors?
  4. Actually Nudge beat you too it, yet thanks for confirming. Having had ESP experiences 4 or 5 times also like the Lovely Bones, with Walhburg and an interesting cameo from Susan Sarandon.
  5. Apparently in lots of Italian cities major protests against vaccine passports and Sweden is alleged to have recovered the best with the least amount of medical intervention. With De Santis, would be interesting to see how he positions himself. I like him with vaccine choice though recall not liking some of his other proposed policies.
  6. Sounds like he seriously planning a come back if going for his own social media platform. He is still campaigning too if the alternative media have it correct. I'm hoping a new face comes forward, quite like De Santis and his stand on vaccine freedom.
  7. As one author said, it is the best democracy that money can buy.
  8. I used to read the Marvel comics as a kid, 7-8 and liked them all: Hulk, Spiderman, Captain America, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. Not really into the films though saw the first Spiderman and thought it was ok.
  9. Until we get the goal scorers going I think Jorginho is the least of our worries.
  10. Nice one, that was it. Always wanted to watch all the film as think I missed the beginning and it looked good. Kept getting confused with the later film Mystic River also starring Kevin Bacon yet a different story.
  11. I saw a murder mystery film some years ago and I can remember the story yet not the actors or title. It was set in suburban USA and concerned a couple that had moved into a house and the husband starts getting visions of a young girl. He later finds out she has gone missing and through the visions believes she is buried in his house. He starts digging in a major way and attracting negative attention from the neighbours and then eventually finds the body. It then becomes a thriller..... Can anyone identify and name the film?
  12. Well you always need to look at who made the documentary and who funded it to know if they are likley to be objective. There was that whole media drive about Trump and Russian links as soon as he became president yet he has faced no serious prosecution and it has faded away. I thought Trump was finished yet my brother thinks he will be the main contender next time in 2024. I thought not yet see from alternative media he is still on the road and talking about 2024. It is very hard to know what is next and Biden is not seen to be performing well as a leader and the Afghan pull out has damaged him too.
  13. Meant to add it was an Elia Kazan film and rather enjoyable, tension up until the end.I went to IMBD after to read about it and several reviews made the point they could not understand why it was not more widely known about.
  14. Caught an old black and white film today. Never heard of it before, it was called, Man on a tightrope. Set in Prague during Soviet times when a circus owner annoyed at the state dictating what they can and cannot do decides to take his circus to the border and crash through to Bavaria. Even more interesting is it was based on a real event in another country during Soviet occupation in Europe.
  15. On the subject of Westerns not a huge fan though have liked some. One of the better ones was Shane, with that great opening sound track and the gunfighter trying to change yet getting dragged back to the gun slinging. Saw a Western for the first time called Hombre, with Paul Newman as the lead. Newman plays a Westerner brought up by Indians that inherits a house and on going to clear up the paperwork by getting a stagecoach gets caught up in a heist. He decides to take action and then it is cat and mouse until the end. By Eastwood standards not many deaths yet an interesting story.
  16. As a follower of Chelsea I am intrigued at the potential prospect of Frank Lampard going there. Not sure he would accept even if offered yet personally think he would. Going for him would be getting Chelsea to 4th in his first season without any signings and working with the wider squad players.
  17. That's unfortunate you would think just being expelled from the current workplace would be sufficient. Now if we are being pedantic are owners the patient, or is it their pets?
  18. I saw it when it came out and thought it was ok, though for that type of movie I preferred the Savages with the late Phillip Seymour-Hoffman and Laura Linney. Out of all those Indy Us films one I enjoyed the best was Little Miss Sunshine.
  19. Benitez didn't get a full season at Chelsea, he did get them playing some entertaining football. The issue was a fair contingent could not forgive for a statement he made about Chelsea while at Liverpool. The question is does he still have the drive and ideas?
  20. Funnily enough I think the forums have helped during the lock-downs as long as you can find some form of exercise to counter inactivity. However for those oldies (80+) that get out less a number of ones I know have come down with mild dementia.
  21. I'm close to this view too. Given that the premier league has welcomed questionable money from all over the globe I don't see why Newcastle fans should feel they need to stay away. Some will on principle and that is also understandable. Strange this change has happened after the transfer window has closed so they cannot change things on the pitch immediately.
  22. While the club football is on hold. What's your thoughts on the tribal areas of Pakistan are they semi-autonomous of the Pakistani govt or completely a law unto themselves? I don't believe a lot of the war on terror nor the disappearance of OBL. Israel is once again making noises over Iran's nuclear progress yet the US may be more focused on the South China sea. Recent reports refer to over 50 PRC planes invading Taiwanese airspace. Independent observers suspect China sees the US as being weak following the withdrawal from Afghanistan and so are testing their resolve.
  23. The govt's views is we have had the vaccines, the vaccines work so Dowden is telling the Civil Service to lead by example and get back to the offices. Now if the vaccines are not working so well (viruses do mutate) and people despite the vaccines are either not well or fear catching something again they will be reluctant to go back or reluctant at least to use public transport. If people do not got back the London economy cannot recover quickly. A lot in office work are being asked to come into the office just twice a week and also work from home the rest of the time. Something is not making sense.
  24. Steve, not sure which team you follow guess it is in Northern England. I think on reflection 'Islamic' is not used in terms of rape yet only for terrorist related events.
  25. Yes I have heard about that issue in India yet have not heard about that community being involved in such crimes here. So most in the UK would not be aware of it. In India itself not just rape yet other crimes against women where even the police either turn a blind eye so to speak, or even take part in it which is rather shocking. Re America cannot comment in too much detail except to say they had the Green Card system and have the impression that this allowed only the better candidates to emigrate there.
