  1. Aston Villa's ticket prices for their Champions League games! https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2024/september/04/champions-league-ticket-details/
  2. It is strange that he's suggesting there's been no contact but the only reason I can think of as to why is that the high turnover of the football staff (sporting director, head coach etc) in the summer. And his form did dip at the end of last season due to that injury so maybe they wanted to take a look at him over the first couple of months to see if he is worth committing to £300k+ p/w for another 2-3 years. Let's not forget there was plenty of the fanbase suggesting they'd accept an offer from Saudi if another one came in. Obviously he looks as good as ever so it's one they need to get sorted before January imo.
  3. Neville is talking here like Liverpool's midfield are nobodies while still somehow talking up Utd's midfield, he's so deluded
  4. I do think people need to stop calling it number 6 like it's a Fabinho replacement. Liverpool aren't playing with a 6. Gravenbrech was everywhere today as was Mac Allister. It's a two with Szoboszlai ahead. It's why they weren't desperate to just get anybody in. They've got two players for each position in that midfield and all over the pitch
  5. I think those expecting a huge drop off from Liverpool after Klopp will be disappointed. Don't think we'll win the league or anything but we'll be comfortably top 4. Really impressed with Slot so far
  6. Is this the one he should have hit but tried to walk it? Yeah I was shouting shoot but not fuming. Easy that for Liverpool. Proper mid table club them.
  7. Good first half, disallowed goal as well. Just be clinical in the second half cos we'll get plenty of chances
  8. Really do feel that we're by far the better side but know that it rarely works out like that, particularly at Old Trafford. Just hope we don't make the same mistakes as we did in the two games there last season.
  9. He kicked the ball away and delayed the restart. Don't think he can have any complaints really. I get that there will be people who bring up incidents where other players should have been booked for similar incidents but I always thought that was the rule. Deserved it for his reaction anyway
  10. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/stefan-bajcetic-joins-red-bull-salzburg-loan-rest-2024-25 Bajcetic gone out on loan
  11. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/41040476/champions-league-draw-how-new-format-works
  12. Good thing is that arguably the two toughest games are at home.
  13. People won't like the format, probably because they don't like change, but I'm open minded about this. Let's be honest, the group stages in this competition were boring. So many dead rubbers and you knew the top two in most groups before they were played. Aside from the fact it's about more money with the extra games, I think it will mean less meaningless games, top teams less assured having to play two pot one teams and it also probably gives the teams who would normally be the whipping boys in a group of four a chance.
  14. You play two from each pot. 1 home and 1 away. For example, Arsenal could end up away to Real Madrid and home to PSG from pot 1. Juventus home and Benfica away from pot 2 and so on. You can only play a maximum of two teams from the same country and none from your own.
  15. Full interview, those quotes above just a small snippet at the end
  16. Not sure what to make of these comments by Salah "Before the season, I was just like 'I've got one year left, let's just enjoy it and don't think about the contract'," "I don't want to think about next year or the future, I just want to enjoy the last year [of my contract] and let's see. "The most important thing is to take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here."
  17. “Who read this concept properly and says ‘oh that’s perfect’ and who tells me now that’s not about money? It’s a joke! “I said before with the Nations League with more games, I said before when FIFA wanted to have a Club World Cup – they don’t ask, they just introduce it. “What’s the reason for that? Money.”
  18. It may only be for a season or two. Alisson's contract runs until 2027. Probably unlikely he'll extend beyond that. And as I said the other day, Alisson seems to pick up injuries so it's not like Mamardashvili would only play a few cup games a season.
  19. Well yeah but Mane was clearly a better player at that point and would have gone for at least double, probably more, had he not been into the final year of his contract.
