Chile for me would be Salas and Zamorano too. Maybe because the 98 World Cup is the first tournament I remember properly and remember Salas scoring that brilliant volley against England at Wembley before that tournament.
-
I was thinking this too. Putting so many players on 7, 8 year contracts can't help with motivation and must take some sort of edge off. Could end up with a few Winston Bogarde's there

This would be sound without that shitty thing behind the crest

Probably doesn't help that he played for England at a time when they were shit, failing to qualify for two World Cups and a Euros in the 70s. His achievements outside of the national team though are obviously up there with the very best

I'm not saying he'd be in the top two for England but it's hardly a laughable suggestion. I'm obviously too young to have seen him play but know how highly thought of he was in football at that time. Incredible at Liverpool and might have been even more highly thought of at Liverpool had his replacement not been Kenny Dalglish. Then went to Hamburg and won the Ballon d'Or in back to back years. It depends how we're defining this though I suppose. Is it what they achieved for their country or overall?

That's a quick return for Tsimikas if that proves correct. Didn't think we'd be seeing him until March/April at the earliest

Yeah I know what you mean! The BBC report from that game mentions a crowd gathering outside and Gonzo is right about people watching it from their houses.
-
Probably. If it is only a few weeks, it's not the worst time for it to happen with the games spread out a bit more. He'll miss the two semi final games, the FA Cup game, which he might not have played in anyway. Then there's Bournemouth in the league as well. Probably touch and go if he makes it for Chelsea at the end of the month.

Don't think so, it would have been January 2021 I think wouldn't it? Went into full lockdown again just before Christmas if I recall correctly. Before that you had the tiered bollocks where there was only a few thousand at PL games in areas that were allowed

Marine v Spurs was during the Covid season

Franz Beckenbauer dies aged 78
LFCMike replied to Tommy's topic in German Football Forum - Bundesliga
Was listening to the Monday Night Club on BBC earlier and one of them mentioned how if a defender brought the ball out of defence in the 70s and 80s someone would always ask 'who does he think he is, Franz Beckenbauer?' It's true, I grew up playing football in the 90s but remember that saying from managers or dads at football even then RIP -
Oh ffs Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out for "a few weeks" with a minor knee ligament tear.
-
I can't recall any recent examples where a lower league side has moved a game from their normal home ground to another bigger ground in the local area. It has happened before though. Pretty sure the FA banned clubs switching the tie to the oppositions home ground years ago though.

Norwich or Bristol Rovers at home, that'll do. Spurs v City as well

How on earth was that not a yellow? Some of the things I see players get away with is baffling.
