  1. playing the remastered dune 2000 again. very underrated game from Westwood. it got lost between c&c and red alert franchises and rival titles from Microsoft(AoE) and blizzard (SC and WC)
  2. went to go watch the Batman. is detail better than the justice league Batman and there are some things in the movie that felt good. the movie drags to long and the longer it goes the more the weak character scripting and ideological tropes start to come through. worth watching but cannot touch Christopher Nolan's dark knight
  3. I grew up in the attitude era, maybe even one before that, there goes the house era. those were the good days
  4. Shane Warne fit the bill. good player but off the field a train wreck
  5. if you really want to end it fast go for shock and awe, heavy bombardment of civilian towns, high speed mobile advances, sure you may lose 1% of your tanks but overwhelm the enemies ability yo defend it. it's why I stick with it being a half arsed skirmish
  6. he was like many Australians, a dodgy malaka
  7. this invasion is nothing more than skirmishing. they could have blitzkrieged and been done. this is just piddly war
  8. all covid regulations in south Africa will cease on 15 March. covid is over gents
  9. the Athletic already did an article two years ago on the notion of clean money in European football and Liverpool like all elite clubs are entrenched in money that derives from Russia, UAE and China in one form or another. I don't think Newcastle United actively purports to represent a war torn country that has been in civil war since well before the current Saudi crown Prince was ever born. geopolitical grandstanding does nothing for me, Liverpool one of the chief proponents in the super league now signed a new agreement with other elite clubs to benefit from new champions league proposals as a form of ensuring the haves have more. John Henry is big on it like he is in taking UAE and China deals to Boston Red Sox. this new money derives from the UAE and by extension Russia and China. the harder thing is to actually prove clean money in sport. anywho the Saudis are not involved in direct handling but only assist in helping the club reach its goals. the Saudis want to grow football in the middle East and unlike the UAE which is dead to football, Saudi Arabia and Iran have long been Fifa nations.
  10. good thing nobody asked him about hedge funds and pyramid schemes
  11. tired of the "buy trophies", ruining football rhetoric often pushed by fans of teams that have held iron grip of their league's to secure European money and financial dominance over the league. let's not kid ourselves to think that mostly all of the European football money derives from China, Russia and the UAE. the Athletic covered that in 2020 it appears more like the "top6" is threatened when someone may come to usurp them. the Chelsea sale is a big body blow to the Premiership, when you considered how terrible the handling and unfairness of the process was during the Newcastle take over, this one is going to sting a little. to find owners as rich as abramovich is going to be nearly impossible.
  12. I'm prepared to accept that beyond the western media gaslighting and white knighting of the matter, that th ere are things that go well bellow the surface that nobody knows or understands. the holistic view is that it is wrong but it always takes two to tango
  13. watch them get bought out by a shell company owned by xi and everyone loses their minds
  14. I think we are going to be led down the rabbit hole again.
  15. very concerned that the changes will cause a runaway top 4 teams which is another nail in F1s slowly lowered coffin. hopefully I'm wrong but testing was not very hopefull
  16. F1 is hard and some drivers aren't up to the grade but Mazapin was embarrassing, he makes Chandock look good
  17. Mazepin should not race because he is Russian/Balarusian, he shouldnt race because he is garbage.
  18. watching south African teams play in Europe is odd.
  19. Ferrari looking good in testing is not new, there is likely sandbagging
  20. after another poor start to bounce back with a comprehensive win shows tenacity nice seen in south African cricket since 2014. some good talent to nurture and Mark Boucher is a perfect coach. the players respond well to his nuggety approach.
