Having said that, the hospitalisation rates currently don't seem to tally up (with the data we have so far) with it being a disease that can cause severe illness and strain on NHS. I heard (and haven't verified it, don't shoot me) that only 5% of NHS beds are currently taken up with COVID patients (and I'm willing to bet a lot of these are unvaccinated...?). While it might be a threat to NHS, the optimist in me sees that if it's less severe or impacting than Delta, then it correlates to there being less of a chance that it does make people severely ill?

Did they count Hamilton's helmet costs for when Max ran over it at Silverstone? Wonder how much he invoiced them.

Right up @MUFC's street.

Especially you! I heard you were crying most nights when you saw @Toinho wasn't logging on...

This resonates with the current COVID situation. Written by Alt-J in the midst of the pandemic and the effect of losing a loved one...

It is odd he didn't get punishment. I agree with what your assistant said this morning though - players make mistakes and get punished, managers make mistakes and get punished. Referees do it and almost escape punishment and are back reffing barely a few days later in some cases. The lack of culpability after a series of errors across the officials is what angers me the most. I can accept that people will make mistakes, but to not learn from them is where the issue lies. And that goes beyond Tierney or any other individual on the pitch - it's a heated environment which requires split-second decisions (VAR should rectify that but misuse of it needs to be worked on). It's the lack of guidance from above them i.e. Mike Riley at PGMOL. He's not fit to lead that team and there needs to be a change in how officiating is done in this league/country. While I agree Tierney made mistakes at the weekend, he's not the only one and there is a bigger picture here. He'll take the flak while his seniors hide away.

When you think of the shit that previous ministers get for muddling up their figures...

When Boris announced last week about the new targets it was jam packed and the site broke. Managed to get one for tomorrow, though, where I am. Had a decent amount of availability.

bet this is nothing on @MUFC's standards.

Therein lies a lot of the England issues. These players with fairly big reputations aren't delivering (although I did feel sorry for how Buttler got out given he was putting up a decent resistance at the time). They can't only rely on Root forever. Root might as well promote himself to being an opener considering how early he is having to come in every single innings. I thought England would put up way more of a fight, and didn't think it'd be a whitewash. But think I may have to change that now. Can't see England winning a test as they just don't have 4 or 5 solid days play in them. 1 day here or there just won't cut it. The lack of preparation probably doesn't help but even if they did have a couple of warm up games I don't think it'd have changed much.

BitCoin is making its way into the game... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59701285 Somewhat conflicted in this as I don't agree with non-football personnel taking charge and owning football clubs. Doesn't sit right with me and it's a cancer that happens at the elite level, let alone at this very low level of the game. So maybe now it's become unavoidable. But on the other hand, this is my hometown and if someone is trying to increase the reputation of the town, and effectively 'put us on the map' in footballing terms, then who am I to go against that? The new owner says he's 'surrounded himself with football people' to help him run the club, so I just hope for his sake, but more importantly the club's sake, that it's not a wasted venture. It would be interesting to see how things pan out if they do get promoted and come up against the 'bigger' Bedford Town FC.

Spurs, to their probable satisfaction, have been kicked out of Europa Conference League. Rennes awarded a 3-0 victory.

Bit harsh considering he's held some responsibility in bringing the likes of Youri, Castagne, Daka, Justin, Fofana in. Not saying it's all been great as there's been some shockers, but it's not like it's been totally horrid here. Do agree that we're about to enter a huge period of recruitment though - the likes of Vardy, Kasper, Evans, Youri potentially leaving. Those 4 being big characters and leaders in the team expected to leave/end their careers within the next couple of years.

Vaccine scientists are also specifically that because that is their profession. They are highly skilled and research/experiment in that area. The threshold for vaccine approvals is also ridiculously high. It's not like they just concoct a cocktail of chemicals and swing it through wishing for the best. The fact they work for private companies shouldn't be enough to put anyone off getting a vaccine. In fact it's a pretty weak excuse. Don't recall the Bell's Pausy thing. Maybe it wasn't that big a thing to be affected by on a grand scale hence it's also not a wholesale reason to not get the vaccine. That's just conjecture to think professionals in the health industry 'had seen' something. I think it was just the terms of being vaccinated in healthcare so that they could continue to look after those that are suffering, with COVID or not because they work in that environment. You'd rather have staff at your disposal that won't suffer serious illness (or at least less likely to) from a deadly virus, wouldn't you? Matt Le Tissier is a beacon of reason now, is he? What expertise does he have over any of us, or any other Karen off Facebook? I'd rather believe and trust a vaccine scientist who has potentially worked for several years on how to prevent death and severe illness, as opposed to a footballer who's been knocked about and roughed up for several years. The only thing I'd ask Le Tissier for advice on is how to take penalties. Other than that, he can pretty much fuck off when it comes to vaccines or virology.

Didn't think it was that difficult to understand

Yeah see this is the context @Gunnersauraus missed out

Only in the very serious incidents. Did Vallecano not have any physios?
-
Is that to do with equality? I've seen it in the men's game a few times where the physio from opposition side has helped treat another player.

Interesting...

As expected, a humiliating defeat on the cards for England. Not a chance they're batting out the rest of day 5, especially with how much Lyon is getting the ball to turn.. Won't be long before the next collapse you'd think.
