Derbyshire just scored a goal for McArthur in the same way they were scored against in that game above ^. MacArthur have taken to their first season quite well. Played some decent stuff. Hopefully they can remain competitive for the whole season. It's enjoyable to watch. There's glimpses of the outrageous every now and then, like that back-heeled assist.

There'll definitely be a response to this defeat, like how there was in Australia. Root definitely star of it. Backed up by Stokes and Sibley in first innings and then by his bowlers for both of ours. It's a memorable victory for England against the odds but it sets up the series in an even more tense way, especially with the consequences for who qualifies for the Test Championship finals against NZ. Some of our players need to pull their fingers out though. Rohit looks complacent, Rahane offered nothing, some of the bowlers in first innings didn't apply enough pressure. Disappointing from some of the more experienced heads. We missed Jadeja at times. Ashwin can only do so much by himself with spin bowling, and Pant can only do so much with his style and approach (which I do love).

That'd be what I'd do, anyway. Root can be overly defensive with his choices when it comes to declaring and often leave it too late.

I think it's a great example of being the makers of your own downfall. There were a clear 3 moments in first half where KC had really good moments by they were brought back for all the penalties. Buccs have been good but KC have been amateur. Only just gotta enjoy themselves now. Try and not make it an embarrassment.
