We've had Pereira, Soyuncu, Castagne, Vardy, Ndidi, Fofana, Maddison, Praet out at some point this season, some of them concurrently. So if you don't recall any other side being hit as hard, I think you're not paying enough attention to anyone else but Liverpool

I think expecting Matip to play any kind of run of games is over-expecting, in my opinion, so it's hardly that much of a bad break not seeing him play several games in a row. More injuries at the club. Castagne, Ndidi, Praet, Fofana all out with hamstring injuries. Vardy just had surgery on a hernia issue. Won't hear about it in the media, mind. The fact majority of them are hamstring injuries does go to show how the lack of pre-season and busy cluster of games takes its toll though. Vardy and Ndidi are the biggest misses.
