You seriously don't think a team with such a small population getting to a tournament is an achievement?

Are their international teams that you like apart from your own? Unlike a lot of English football fans I do like the other British teams and like them to do well. Croatia are a team I've always liked. I remember them doing well in 1998 which was my first international tournament. I like Iceland because they are massive over achievers. This is a bit of a strange one as I don't like them in other sports but I like to see Australia qualify for the world cup. We don't have a rivalry with Australia at football so I like them

I'd like carsley personally. I don't think any of the English candidates have amazing credentials. He's won the u21 euros he'd be my first choice. There is a lot of risk with him but there is with all the potential managers.

@Michael To be honest my neighbour is the kind of person that would always moan. The thing is with football is very few managers actually win anything. Even less win anything at international level. Since the turn of the century no team has won the world cup twice and only Spain have won more than won European championship. Winning things at international level doesn't happen very often. I'm about as pro southgate as you will get and even I think it is time to go. Doesn't mean I think he did a bad job because he didn't win anything

Since we won the world cup we'd reached 2 euro semi finals and one world cup semi final. We're not Germany or Brazil. Our tournament history has been no where near the elite teams. And suddenly its a huge failure to finish second. He also said that venebles was a great England manager even though we won two games at euro 96 in full time

I don't think anyone thinks England should stop playing kane. Even in a bad tournament he still was the joint highest goal scorer. And he still has at least one more tournament left possibly two

It's gonna be a lot of pressure though. If we loose to Argentina, France or Spain in the world cup it may be considered exceptable. But anything less than that would be considered a big failure.

Iceland have been competitive in womens football over the years. I think they gave Germany a few problems in qualifying before haven't they? I feel a bit sorry for England women. They could qualify next week but it has been completely overshadowed by the mens euros. The attendances are down a bit for England ladies. I couldn't get a ticket a few years ago when they played usa but they are still getting 25000 plus regularly.
