    Check this then in Yorkshire @nudge, @Berserker, @Stan, @Bluewolf, @Inti Brian
  2. Greece are opening their boarders from the 1st July without any quarantine.
  3. Best way would be to starve yourself of sleep the night before so that you sleep for most of the flight. South America on a bus would be rough. They won't have roads like in Germany anyway... I'm actually surprised you've never been to Spain, Portugal, Italy or Greece. Saying that I've only been to 2 of those(Spain and 4 of its Islands and Greece) but heavy tourism aside, there is so much natural beauty and fascinating architecture there, while only being a short flight away. It's almost blasphemy for someone such as yourself who has travelled alot Where is the best city to visit in Southern Canada that would be quick to reach from New York? Toronto itself? Montreal? Every country(other than 2) that I want to visit, and haven't already, are outside Europe and even then I'd personally rather see more of Spain than go to a random European country just for the sake of it. Most countries would be in the Americas to be honest, South, north and Carribbean. In terms of Asia, Thailand would be amazing for fishing and India for the people. Kenya in Africa would be amazing, but it's too dodgy nowadays. Australia is too far, but that would be amazing I'd have thought aswell. Saying that, anywhere outside of Europe won't be happening for a while now, due to a financial blow and boarders potentially being closed for quite a while, so I should focus on on Europe being back open and stop dreaming It's not like there isn't a choice: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, all the islands that surround those countries, Cyprus, Switzerland..
  4. You could buy real ciggies if you came around the back of E block and found me. 2 for a quid
  5. I'd say I went to secondary school at the perfect time to be honest. There was also the £1 special from the local chippy. Sausage, chips and gravy(or peas/curry) for just a quid! You can't even afford the gravy on its own for that now.
  6. I bet it has seriously changed over the years in terms of unhealthy food and sugar. Nobody cared in the 90s or very early 00s .
  7. Our school was full of fizzy drink machines and chocolate bar machines. As for dinners, anything unhealthy you can think of such as burgers or pizzas . Our school dinners were actually top notch, especially the chicken burgers and chips they serve up.
  8. I still remember being ill in January and it was definitely this. I felt like I was getting bronchitis, couldn't breath when doing tasks I always do and completely lost my sense of smell/taste for 10 days, the latter I was paranoid as fuck about as I'd never completely lost my sense of smell and taste before. After speaking to a few people today on the phone I now know atleast 8 people from(or who worked) around here who all had the same and are now looking back on it and realising what they probably had. We all get flu and colds but this was leading people to Google what they had caught, as it was different to your usual cold or flu. I was skitzing thinking I'd lost my sense of smell and taste forever, my mate was at home for 10 days googling Weil's disease, another was rubbing Vicks all over his face... It's been here longer than people claim if you ask me. I was taking the piss at the time saying I had it, although didn't think I actually did as it had only been reported in the far east at that point. Looking back now though, it must have been it, I cannot think what else it'd have been.
  9. Ye I've given up planning, but they were the plans pre-covid, or atleast a rough idea. 15 hours? Jesus , I would literally crack up on a 15 hour flight. It would be even worse if having to wear a mask also, which will likely be the new future. I'm not sure about the rail networks there, but @Inti Brian will surely know as he has been everywhere in that part of the world. Taking a train is certainly a better option than flying though if the option is there. Not only more leg room and comfort but you can open windows and you see many sights on your journey. You don't have to wait for hours before setting off either. I will have to check that out on bbc as that sounds interesting.
  10. Yeah too many countries at once involves too much travelling, that's why I'd just do 2/3 at the most at once, unless like you said, you were going for longer. I think 5-6 days(a total of 15-18 days) in 3 different places is still worth it though if said places are within a 2 or so hour flight from each other, but too many flights and bullshit inbetween would be tiresome more than anything. Canada is probably more interesting to be honest. But a reason for starting in the USA is because it's easier to get to from Manchester. A good start to become more accustomed to longer flights. Argentina and Uruguay are 2 that stand out but actually reaching them is a farce and this is when you'd be better going for at least month or so. Getting to Florida from the UK is easy(and I'd love to go fishing there!) albeit being a 10 hour flight, then getting to Colombia from there is easy itself(and the flight isn't too long, a few hours), as is reaching Mexico from Colombia. Then getting back from Mexico to the UK is also easy, this is why I believe a 2/3 week trip would work well within these 3 destinations. Cuba seems beautiful(the beaches and sea especially, they look photo-shopped they are so stunning), I know a family who go there every year almost. If not there, it's Costa Rica. New York/Canada is also a good starting point for me as the flight is around 7/8 hours, so it's a great start in becoming more accustomed to long flights when the longest I've been on was probably only about 4 hours.
  11. Ahh you should come to the Americas with me in the near future. I've been to Malaga, I went there with a lass about 9 years ago and it was great, although It would be nice to go there again and explore fuck out of it as it's a seriously nice city and there is a lot of natural beauty surrounding it, el caminito del rey also looks class if you've ever been there? Go to Malaga from Lisbon(which is easy as Malaga has an airport), then take a train to Sevilla and somewhere else in Andalucia and then end up in Catalunya from there. I've even been through all the costs and would it would work out alright, probably even cheaper when it actually comes down to it. This is one trip I should still be able to do whatever happens. It's not necessary to go in summer either as there is Autumn and Spring. In fact, it'll be better during those seasons to be honest. That's what I actually meant to say, Bournemouth . At this rate, it'll be city trips to Liverpool and Manchester, followed by days at the beach in Blackpool. Might even do a few days in Burnley, some great architecture there. Maybe even pop over to Grimsby if I'm feeling adventurous, there's a lot of palm trees there. Where are you going for that? Anywhere planned yet?
  12. I was hoping to have been to all these by the end of 2021:- Trip 1: Portugal(Lisbon), Spain(various parts of Andalucia and various parts of Catalunya, ending in Barcelona to go and see someone) over a few weeks. Trip 2: Italy and Switzerland(where in each country? I hadn't decided, probably Roma in Italy) and maybe end it with a day in Germany over a week or so. Trip 3: New York and somewhere in Canada, 5 days in each. Trip 4: Florida(Miami?), Colombia(Medellin), Mexico(hadn't decided which part) over 2 weeks. Had it not been for Covid-19(should it not be 20?), then the money would have been there for the first 3 trips already(without going skint at the same time) and by the time I had gotten through them, I'd have had money for the 4th. That was atleast the intention. I'd have already been and done the first one and would be planning the 2nd now. With trip 4, you can take direct flights between them all and back to Manchestoh, which is why I looked into those, some other countries are a farce to reach without tons of stop overs and nonsense. I'd squeeze Jamaica in between Colombia and Mexico, but for some reason, getting flights between those countries is difficult, I don't know why? I can always look into it though as a couple of days in Jamaica would be worth it if you're travelling that distance. I have looked into all these and know for certain that you can travel between them, so the decisions have been based on a mix of countries I'd like to visit and the convenience of being able to travel between them. I also see a nice mix there. One of the main reasons for New York is(or was) to become more accustomed to longer flights. There are also some fantastic Canadian cities only a short flight away, presenting the opportunity to visit two new countries at once. We'll have to see what happens, because I won't be affording fuck all if this bullshit continues. Having to put it on hold isn't a big deal as you can go once travel restrictions are lifted again, however it's the money being spent without any being earned. Making money through all this would have been a blessing in disguise, but losing so much is a massive set back. How @Stan is right now would have been perfect, i.e not taking a financial blow(or not too much of one) due to still being able to work, while not spending much due to the lock down. But we'll see, I can still redeem myself if I'm back in work within a month or so. Oh well, fuck Mexican beaches let's go to Southampton @Lucas Where will you be heading first when you can? @nudge, @Inti Brian
  13. A lass I used to know when I was younger has recently just found her 16 year old son hanging. Fucking horrible news. I didn't know him personally(not like that matters) but I knew his mother from when I was younger and she lived near me. It makes you wonder if this has any relation to the current situation? I mean suicide is scarily high among young males in this country as it is, but it makes you wonder what role this could have played. It's absolutely dreadful news either way, no young lad should be taking their life.
  14. And by doing this, far far more people will have now been affected by it than the virus itself. It's hard to find a balance. If you don't take a virus seriously when it first breaks out in a country, then there is no right way, as there are negatives and very little positives to whichever measures are taken by that point. You go back to normal, far too many die, you have constant lockdowns, you create mental health problems and millions of unemployed and when in that position, death is sometimes a better option in this world. It's impossible to find that balance now and this will go on for fucking years, guaranteed.
  15. "The new normal" is just another way of saying "new world order"

If they go night fishing in the bivvy(like a tent) then they will target the same species as me mate, Carp. You need to put the time in to catch these big ones, this is why we go for 24-48 hours or so at a time, or if you're mad like my mate and myself are, then 6 days straight on a lake in the South East . Best part about carping is the tactical aspect. It's not just about casting a bait into a lake and being lucky at all really.

This'll be me friday until sunday! I'm not a fan of golf but can see the appeal as it's not just the same itself but being out in the fresh air. As you can see there in your pictures, full of woodlands surrounding you, etc. It's peaceful and it's good for the mind. These golf courses, fishing lakes, etc also preserve nature.
  18. They should stay at home, be alert, save vets...
  19. But it worked. I had chicken pox as a kid. I came out in shingles aswell in my early 20s and apparently you can only have that if you have had chicken pox. Shingles were just under the arm pit area though. I thought I had a disease like monkeypox at first as I came out in it just days after being bitten and scratched by a monkey in a house party(don't ask), but that was pretty grim to be fair. Nothing antibiotics didn't get rid of but it leaves a weird feeling in your nerves in that area for months.
  20. Still doesn't beat @nudge's favourites though, the smurfs:-
  21. This is why fist bumping has always been better than hand shaking as well .
  22. People queing up all down the motorway in Tenerife for McDonald's
  23. Yeah quite a few of the actors are the same. I suppose these will start appearing more and more in future Spanish series and films as there are some very talented actors there at the moment to be honest.
  24. I watch it with Spanish subs(since they speak so fast and you don't always catch it all) but even if I didn't understand Spanish then I'd watch it with English subs rather than dubbed. Those old Bruce Lee films were always better when with subtitles rather than dubbed themselves! Classics. Another good Spanish series is Elite. I've watched it all recently and it was better than it looks like it'd be before watching it.
