  1. A matter of time or a matter of unlimited spending?
  2. Bottas was very good first half of the year. Second half been very average, if he starts like that next year he'll be under pressure. Next year looks good though, Ferrari will be strong and Red Bull have almost caught up with Mercedes pace wise. I think McLaren will be competitive too with a Renault engine in the back. Hard to see any of them beating Mercedes though...
  3. Deserved for Hamilton and Mercedes. Mercedes out developed Ferrari since the early-mid part of the season. Hamilton didn't drop any points through mistakes forcing Vettel to overdrive and throw away points most notably in Singapore which swung the championship.
  4. Thought Vettels pass on Massa was fine to he honest, if there was a wall there Massa would have shoved Vettel into it which would have been his fault. This race and championship are now a formality unless something happens to Verstappen or Bottas. Shame.
  5. Just dusted off the PS3 with the intention of polishing off the Ratchet and Clank games during my half term break. Still a quality series of games even after completing the first game about 20 times over the years.
  6. Williams' driver line-up has always been an experienced, reliable driver and a young one except for when they had Maldonado as the "reliable" one for a while alongside a youngster, can't remember who. Still not convinced Kvyat would be a better option than Kubica (if he's close to his old self) or even Massa.
  7. Jenson also beat Lewis over the course of a season in 2011 which many people forget.
  8. Di Resta did okay as a stand in in Hungary but he's another one who is decent but not in the top 20 drivers. Kubica is worth a punt. Wehrlein I think has something about him but his stock has fizzled out a lot at Sauber which is the danger of being in such a shitty car, you have to be Fernando Alonso to even stay relevant.
  9. The system might be a problem but all four of Tottenhams goals came from individual errors or set pieces where enough players were back defending so it runs deeper than Klopps tactics even if that is part of it in other games.
  10. Just started watching season 1 . I'll be back when I'm caught up.
  11. Massa is off anyway. The other two fair enough but Leclerc will be in the Sauber next year leaving the Haas seat where Kvyat could grind out a couple of pointless seasons before realising he's wasting his time in F1 and going to Indycar or Formula E.
  12. He did okay when he started at Red Bull but never kicked on. To be frank anyone who gets a full year in a Red Bull and doesn't at least get a couple of podiums shouldn't be anywhere near that car in the first place. Kvyat isn't a bad driver by any means but by F1 standards he has average pace with the occasional standout weekend but more frequently gets involved in accidents. 10 years ago that would keep him in a job at a middle team like Williams or Renault but not today. Which drivers on the grid have had as many opportunities as Kvyat but achieved less? Who would you kick out of the 20 man roster to keep Kvyat in the sport?
  13. Why did he even start the game if he's that badly injured and he can't defend when he's fully fit anyway?
  14. To add to my point about the standards needed to stay in F1 just remember that the likes of Heidfeld, Sutil, Liuzzi, Maldonado, Kovalainen who were all very good racing drivers who looked like hot shit when they first turned up in the sport with some of them even winning races, couldn't keep up enough to really make it in the end. You have to be as good as Hulkenberg, Perez, Bottas, Massa just to be sure of staying in the sport another year.
  15. Kvyat is done and has been since he was dropped back to Toro Rosso. Red Bull don't need to promote anyone now until they lose Ricciardo or Verstappen which could be a long time. The only way one of those two leaves is if a Ferrari or Mercedes seat opens up and those teams are still competing for the title while Red Bull aren't. Hartley didn't impress me this weekend. If your main praise from the commentators comes from tyre management and fuel management you know you've not really made an impact. It's really harsh but the standards to be an F1 driver now are that you have to be within a few tenths of the top guys consistently in terms of your own raw performance because that's how good the best 20 drivers in the world are and it's been that way since about 2009. Unless Sainz moves permanently to a different team he is certainly the next one to be promoted to Red Bull. Kvyat had his chance and Gasly impressed more than Hartley did in his one off race. Gasly will be in a Toro Rosso next year and unless they have an alternative I imagine Hartley will replace Kvyat because Kvyat isn't a potential Red Bull driver but Hartley might be. I'll be amazed if Hartley gets a sniff at the senior team now though as like I say, they don't have seats to fill and even when they do Sainz and then Gasly look the likely candidates at the moment to be the next two in line.
  16. If Red Bull are still a distant third next year and Mercedes want him for 2019 that won't mean anything.
  17. Harsh on Verstappen. From a racing perspective I would have let it go but he's been punished correctly by the letter of the law. Ferrari put up a decent fight this year and had the advantage over Mercedes at the ultra high downforce tracks even as recently as Singapore but Merc have won the development race in quite spectacular fashion. Early in the year there was nothing in it at most tracks. Since the winter break Hamilton has cruised to poles and wins left, right and centre while Ferrari have slipped towards Red Bull. Bottas has been a disappointment since middle of the season. I'm a big shipper of his and you can afford a dodgy half season but if he gets pasted by Hamilton this badly in the early stages of next year he'll be under pressure to keep his seat for 2019, especially with Ricciardo and Verstappen making noises about moving from Red Bull if they don't have a championship winning car, and other talents like Ocon and Sainz always available to the big three. There's also the British lad who's been tearing up GP3 this year and is on Mercedes' books but I can't remember his name.
  18. I honestly think Mercedes are just that much faster.
  19. Great battling between Bottas and Ricciardo going to show that great racing doesn't necessarily have to include an overtake.
  20. I don't watch American sport so I don't usually get exposed to this but the build up for the US Grand Prix here has been unbearably cringe. What a nation of absolute spackermongs. No longer surprised they elected numpty Trumpty.
  21. This'll be those Muslim extremists again then will it? Not heard anything, just assuming .
  22. Mourinho has such a big ego that he expects everything to be perfect and go his way which obviously will never happen which leads to him being permanently irate.
  23. I played Ultimate Team for about a week. Built an okay side but now don't see the point. After getting loads of free packs for the early challenges it's become a massive grind to improve the team further. Also having to pay extra for PlayStation Plus to play online with my team put me off. Then started a career with Sandefjord in Norway. Decent fun. Finished 6th in the first season and like the structure of career mode. Playing on World Class, briefly bumped it up to Legendary when I was 2nd mid season (Bit stupid as Sandefjord are newly promoted and their first ever season in the top flight). This was a bitch to play on so I went back to World Class after a few games and struggled to get my form back. Second season has started with three wins and a draw back on World Class. My first FIFA for many versions and I'm enjoying it.
  24. Montmartre is the best part of Paris.
