  1. 1. Yes, there's a chance Jon's heritage will come out next week but not sure. If/when he rides a dragon I think it'll be hard for many people to argue about whether he really is a Targaryen. By the way, how has Jon not mentioned to Daenerys the fact that he spent time with the only other known Targaryen (Maester Aemon) at Castle Black!? 2. I'm not sure about this. She didn't go to King's Landing and burn down the Red Keep, that would have been a massive issue. Just because both Jaime and Tyrion were horrified by the people being burned, doesn't mean she is a tyrant for using dragons in battle, because otherwise there's no point in having them. Like I said above now though, I get the feeling Dany will go on a bit of a power trip after winning this battle. 3. A combination of Tyrion and maybe Jon Snow but Jorah Mormont is a good shout too. I'm looking forward to seeing what he has to say about Samwell Tarly if he gets back in time to meet Jon. The fact that Sam knows about the threat from the white walkers, and he is trusted by Jorah, and Jorah is trusted by Dany, I feel like this will play some sort of role. 4. Yeah, this one falls in the category of pretty cool for me. It had to happen but I don't like them going too far with fan service either. 5. Bran won't just turn into the three-eyed raven fully. There will be glimmers of Brandon Stark in there as well, and I expect him to out Littlefinger for the role he played in Ned's death, possibly in response to a threat to one of his sisters. I know that dagger was used to try and assassinate Bran, to set up Littlefinger's lie that led to Catelyn arresting Tyrion, but was it also the dagger used here?
  2. Daenerys will go power mad at least to an extent next episode, they can't let it get too "good vs bad", just not the way they do things with the odd exception like Robb Stark vs Joffrey and Jon Snow vs Ramsay. By the way, love how one minute Dany is on the beach like "I can't feed my army, the Lannisters took all the food from the Reach", then one ad-break later she's suddenly like "I have a massive dragon so I'm going to burn all of the supplies in the supply train and let the Dothraki deal with the soldiers instead of burning the Lannister army and stealing the supplies". What happened to Tarly Sr anyway? He didn't appear for a long time and I reckon they would have shown it if he got caught in the dragon fire. Be a good twist if he shat himself and fled after he forced Samwell to go to the Night's Watch for being a coward.
  3. Naaah, Cersei is wanting to ship over sellswords from Essos, Dany is already within striking distance of King's Landing.
  4. I think this is the beginning of Danys "mad queen" arc. She will win the war but be "Queen of the Ashes" after all as her dragon fire and Cerseis wildfire will between them wreck the country, before she somewhat redeems herself by going North to help the Starks defeat the Night King. My theory at least.
  5. Did not know who I was supporting in that last scene. Great episode, son of a bitch of an ending.
  6. Apparently Koeman has said today he wants a player who can play left back/left centre back, a winger and a striker. I don't know if that includes Sigurdsson but I hope it does and that by winger he means attacking midfielder but that's a stretch. If he seriously wants another out and out winger that'll piss me right off because the club have already invested £40m in Bolasie and Lookman since Koeman took over and a new contract for Mirallas. We're spending all this time and money getting Sigurdsson, as well as Rooney, Sandro, Klaassen who are all attackers but not out and out strikers. Who do we have that is an out and out striker? Calvert-Lewin, arguably Sandro. I'm not going to moan about the Sigurdsson deal because it's obviously going to happen but signing another winger seems about the lowest priority for us at the moment. Mixed performance against Sevilla today, we started well and ended well but were absolutely awful for most of the time in between. I don't want to get negative but throughout pre-season a lot of our players seem well under-cooked, particularly Schneiderlin and Klaassen. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if those two were benched for Stoke but I'll be amazed if they are. Martina looked better today when he came on at left-back, but this talk of Kenny and potentially Lookman going out on loan is bothering me as well because they've shown just as much in pre-season as many of the senior players. Kenny for me looks an absolute perfect understudy for Seamus Coleman and should be getting first team football this season surely. Hoping we line up like this next week: Pickford; Kenny, Keane, Jagielka, Baines; Gueye, Davies; Mirallas, Rooney, Sandro; Calvert-Lewin. But in reality it'll be: Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Williams, Baines; Schneiderlin, Gueye; Calvert-Lewin, Rooney, Klaassen; Sandro.
  7. Can't believe how much negative feedback this is getting. I'm the most cynical bastard of them all but I have to respect Mata for this because I don't believe he's the type to do something like this publicly to get more Instagram followers like some other players. People asking him to donate 10% as well, get real, no chance of getting other players on board with that whereas if you make it 1% other players that get on board might well end up paying at least 2% or 3%. Don't look at it as whether or not Mata deserves credit or not for giving up what is, for him, a pittance. Look at it as the guy trying to start a bit of a movement that could make a decent difference for a few charities.
  8. I remember seeing an article about the state of the facilities used at the Olympics six months on: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/gallery/2017/feb/10/rios-olympic-venues-six-months-on-in-pictures

I totally agree with you but that's a big if. I have no idea whether more or less than half of them will have ended up being fine as its quite a new phenomenon but time will tell. For me I just think it puts them at massive risk. No there wasn't and it's only apparent now because younger people are exposed to it by the media. We have a responsibility to educate them properly so they don't get their information off fucking Facebook or whatever.
  10. It does my head in when these leaks happen. I want to watch it when it actually comes out otherwise I don't fully enjoy it the same for some reason. But it's dangerous going on Facebook, YouTube, reddit because other people do watch it and there's spoilers in the video titles and stuff sometimes.
  11. I'm not watching any leaks, need me my glorious HD.

They have enough to worry about going into puberty without worrying about whether they identify as the other gender. Spending two years from 12-14 being prepared for such a life changing decision only for them to change their mind after all because they've realised they didn't really understand it all and it was just a phase or curiosity just causes a totally unnecessary wave of extra trauma and potential damage to their mental well-being at that age.

I agree with this. I taught some trans gender pupils last year and they're like 12 years old. Nobody in my generation was trans gender at that age. It's just exposure to it that is different nowadays and exposing kids to the possibility of changing gender at that age is not helpful. Some of them might already know but many of them are nowhere near prepared enough to decide to start putting themselves through such a change at that age.
  15. Leclerc is nailed on for F1 next year. It will be a seat at Sauber now that they've announced the engine deal and Ferrari have said it'll be like them having a junior team. Mercedes could do with a "junior team" as well but it'd have to be a new team as there's no way McLaren, Williams or Force India would accept those circumstances and Haas, Sauber and Toro Rosso are already affiliated with Ferrari or Red Bull.
  16. Jagielka signs a one year extension to 2019
  17. Kubica fastest this morning in testing. No doubt they took some of the fuel out and did a fast run just to grab the headlines. The more positive publicity this move gets, the more they can justify putting him in the car next year or even as soon as Belgium.
  18. More importantly can someone not fix the title of the thread?
  19. We went on a cruise about 6-7 years ago and stopped off in Valencia. Loads of new infastructure there and I believe they were in the process of building the stadium at the time, shame about this.
  20. It's understandable for Jaime to be a strong military commander and Euron to be this excellent pirate. Those two were responsible for the two major victories over Daenerys, not Cersei, so I can accept it. The Lannisters seeming to have so many men bothered me because they took several losses to Robb Stark, would have lost several more men at the Battle of Blackwater but overwhelmed Stannis because the Tyrells joined Tywin. The Lannisters needed those men so much they agreed to make Margaery queen so the Tyrell army must have been at least nearly as big as what the Lannisters had left. However, if we accept that Randyll Tarly and his men made up a big chunk of that army that perhaps explains why Jaime led so many men to Highgarden this episode and the Tyrells had next to no men left. What still bothers me though is how Cersei has faced no consequences politically from blowing up the Sept of Baelor. This is a programme of "actions have consequences" which is what makes it great. Saying that everyone in Kings Landing and the Lannister army follows Cersei out of fear is fine but I don't buy the fact that there are no council members, nobles, not even Jaime questioning Cersei in any way, or plotting against her. For someone who got her power by blowing up what is effectively the Vatican of Westeros before her son the King committed suicide because of her actions, she has far too stable a hold over her people for it to make sense and that's before you even factor in the fact that she has no claim to the throne anyway and the seven kingdoms have never been ruled by a woman before.
  21. I watched Designated Survivor as well, the typical Yank dramatic music made it seem as if it was going to be overly dramatic and silly/cheesy at the start but it was actually an enjoyable watch, looking forward to the next season. Very tempted by Ozark, I liked Breaking Bad and be nice to have the next show lined up when I'm up to date with Mad Men. Would you recommend based on what you've watched?
  22. Can't believe there's only 5 weeks left of the Summer holidays
  23. My gut feeling based on Ferrari generally being better at high downforce circuits and Mercedes stronger on long straights.
