  1. Cheeky cunt with those comments today. Chelsea owe him nothing and should add £5m to the price in response to this nonsense.
  2. Yeah you can't expect to keep all the intrigue. It used to be interesting to see what Little finger, Varys, Tyrion, Cersei etc. were plotting now cards are pretty much on the table. The early seasons were great for the intrigue, scheming and character development. The later seasons naturally lose a lot of that because they have to finish the story but they're still great or at least good for the massive battle scenes and the end game of every major character's stories. I'm a book reader but after the show had got through a few seasons. I'd certainly rather have read GRRM's version before seeing it on the show but that's life. There are bits I don't like about the show and the writing in it which I'll openly say but it's still much better television than pretty much anything else that's on so I plan to just appreciate that.
  3. Already seen one spoiler on the title of a YouTube video but not sure it's real as I don't see the two characters involved being in the same place by the end of next episode....
  4. I've read that the Targaryens inter married because the silver hair Valyrian look is a recessive trait. E.G. a female Targaryen married Robert Baratheon's grandfather and the Baratheon family all inherited the black hair of their ancestors. I can't remember whether this was a theory or real though.
  5. Sake, HBO Spain accidentally put the next episode online last night so the rest of this week looks like hiding in a bunker away from social media and spoilers again. Someone even posted a shortened 52 minute version on Facebook today, I saw the first few seconds of the episode. Be careful out there guys and if you're going to watch a hookie version, it sounds like there are some 54ish minute links missing some of the footage and some 67 minutes long which are the full episode. Don't spoil me though or I'll explode your head .
  6. It's all about Spennymoor Town in National League North who beat Bradford PA 3-0 tonight to make it three wins out of three. Newly promoted after coming up through the playoffs last season.
  7. Leyton Orient slapped 6-1 at Bromley tonight while Torquay lose 4-2 at home to Boreham Wood and Tranmere draw 0-0 at Guiseley. 3-3 draws between Dagenham & Redbridge - Ebbsfleet and Solihull Moors - Barrow so an eventful night in the National League. Aldershot conceded a late equaliser at Maidenhead but are still top after four games with three wins and a draw.
  8. Logically they'd have sailed from Dragonstone to Eastwatch all the way up the East Coast. Even stopping off at White Harbour would have added about 40% extra journey length. It does make me laugh though how in Season 2 it took Davos and Stannis an entire season to get from Dragonstone, to Storms End, then to Kings Landing. This episode Davos travelled from Dragonstone to Kings Landing, back to Dragonstone, then all the way to the wall in one hour.
  9. Deulofeu couldn't hold down a place in the Everton side ahead of the likes of Mirallas, Bolasie and Barkley, then AC Milan I believe chose not to take the option to buy after he was loaned there - might be wrong on that second detail. Given his obvious talent it's not impossible that he succeeds at Barcelona but why they've found themselves in a situation where a player who was loaned from Everton because he wasn't in the first team is now starting against Real Madrid is beyond me.
  10. I do agree with this. The show hasn't been the same from season 5 onwards, rather it has become a still very good show with moments where it still reaches the heights of the "good old days". Fan service is definitely how I'd describe a lot of the stuff from this season and the last one too, I find it frustrating, especially stuff like the shot of the "squad" heading beyond the wall in this episode of popular peripheral characters which if we're honest half of them have been brought back more for popularity than for the story.
  11. I can understand the travelling being faster now. Part of it is down to them rushing it admittedly but part of it is down to there only being 4-5 story lines. At the start of Season 5, for example, every episode or two you had to have scenes for each of these story threads: - Jon Snow, Sam and Stannis at Castle Black - Roose, Ramsay and Theon at Winterfell - Arya arriving in Braavos - Sansa and Littlefinger in The Vale - Brienne and Podrick searching for the Stark girls - Jaime and Bronn travelling to Dorne - Cersei, Margaery, Tommen and the Sparrows - Tyrion travelling East with Varys - Dany ruling in Slavers Bay For most of this season it's been narrowed down to: - Dany, Tyrion, Jon and Co all at Dragonstone - Cersei and Jaime in Kings Landing - The Starks and Littlefinger at Winterfell - Sam and Gilly in Oldtown You're probably going to each location more than twice as often so this year in one episode the story advances for each character about as much as what used to take maybe three episodes.
  12. Yeah Jason Bateman is really strong and Laura Linney (his wife) too.
  13. I don't have anything against Lukaku like many of our fans seem to but this is absolutely typical of him, deliver for two games, a lost Super Cup final and a game against West Ham, and label himself an instant success. I'm not saying he won't do it consistently but he should keep the arrogant remarks to himself until he does. Most people would at least pretend to be humble and say "yes I'm delighted to get off to a good start today but it's one game and there's plenty more work to do" but that's just not Rom.
  14. Found this episode very frustrating but decent. Arya and Sansa arguing already . It's good but unnerving to see Littlefinger actually being Littlefinger again but between Arya's murder skills and Bran's psychic powers and the fact we haven't seen Sansa's "the lone wolf dies but the pack survives" quote from the trailer I'm not worried. Saw Sam leaving the Citadel coming, he's gone there to advance the plots elsewhere and hopefully he was half listening when Gilly said about the annulment. A shame we probably won't get to see Jim Broadbent's character crack and believe him. Jaime and Bronn escaping was complete bullshit on so many levels. Love this show but that was shit writing, no way Dany just forgets about coming face to face with the guy who killed her father then charged to kill her without wanting to know what happened to him. They didn't seem remotely surprised that he was alive, if they deliberately let him go they could have mentioned that. Tyrion getting into Kings Landing on his suicide mission was scarcely believable but at least they addressed that by Cersei saying she let it happen. I'm calling bullshit on her pregnancy story too, she's just saying that to keep Jaime around. And by the way, she's going to say he's the father even though she's engaged to that mad man Euron Greyjoy? Come on now... Dany burning alive the Tarlys was completely unnecessary. Beheading I could have accepted but again, why is she so ruthless with them but doesn't care about what happened to Jaime who directly killed her father and nearly her five minutes earlier? At least she let Jon go, I know he's doing what's important but he could at least send some communication to Winterfell about his plans, ask for some extra men? No? Anyway, cool shot of Eastwatch and the end of the wall and a great squad of secondary/tertiary characters to support Jon beyond the wall but no doubt a lot of them aren't coming back, but which ones? Jon - Plot armor - 99% chance of survival. The Hound - Plot armor, there's no way they bring him back just to die on this excursion? Maybe he saves Jon and that's his final redemption but I think he makes it out - 75% chance of survival. Gendry - Surely there's no chance they bring him back after 4 years just to die after 3 scenes? - 80% chance of survival. Tormund - Someone has to die here, and I think he's one of them unfortunately. I don't see how much more story he's got left. - 35% chance of survival. Beric - The brotherhood have been cool through the years but I also think they're dispensable at this stage with 8 episodes left. I expect him to go down in heroic fashion taking down dozens of dead men with his flaming sword. - 10% chance of survival. Thoros - See Beric. These two to go down together. - 10% chance of survival. Jorah - Torn on this one, I'm hopeful he'll make it out because otherwise why bother with the whole grey scale cure plot line? I can see this going either way though. - 60% chance of survival.
  15. What does people arguing that Modric and Kroos (a German by the way) are better than Busquets have to do with Brexit or some sort of weird British bias that you're implying?
  16. Cambridge first home game today against Carlisle who were another playoff contender last season. Tough one and no guarantee of a result but we need to get something or the pitchforks will be coming out for Derry already.
  17. Yeah watched the whole season, thought it was quality. You finished it? If we're talking Suits I think you mean Abso-GODDAMN-lutely.
  18. Koeman's press conference highlights: Sigurdsson talks ongoing, deal still close, reports of talks breaking down not true. "Hopefully" this will be done in the next few days but he said this last weekend. Replacing Lukaku will be hard, we still want a few more players in addition to Klaassen, Sandro and the others we've signed. Barkley is back in training. There is no offer on the table and if no appropriate offer comes in before the end of the window he will stay and be part of the team this season. McCarthy is also back in training but neither he nor Ross will be in the squad this weekend due to fitness issues. Despite Niasse and Lennon being linked with moves away, there is nothing at an advanced stage so don't expect to see any outgoings in the next few days.
  19. Leyton Orient and Tranmere both got their first wins of the season tonight, both 3-1 at home against Solihull Moors and Woking respectively. Aldershot, who beat Torquay 3-2, and Dagenham & Redbridge, who won 2-1 at Boreham Wood, are the only two sides with a 100% record after two games. Solihull Moors are the only team without a point but have only played once as their opening game against Chester was postponed. Live on BT Saturday lunch time is Maidenhead v Hartlepool. In the National League North, Harrogate, Southport, Brackley and Spennymoor Town (who beat FC United of Manchester tonight) are the teams with two wins from two. In the National League South, it is Truro, Chelmsford and St Albans.
  20. That's only four mate. Trust me, I'm a maths teacher . Leagues have peaks and troughs when it comes to their reputation. It's not impossible that Ligue 1 could overtake La Liga but that's a long process and even if PSG win the next five Champions Leagues it doesn't mean French football has overtaken La Liga, it means PSG have overtaken Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. If we see France consistently having 3-4 teams reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, then we'll talk.
