I think the mortality rate coupled with its rate marker kind of answers all of that.

Numbers were in the 90K mark for H1N1 with this thing its closer to 300K (and growing) so its getting more attention. Plus, a lot of countries sort of evaded H1N1 which is probably why it wasn't tracked as closely. Heres a data sheet http://theconversation.com/coronavirus-what-the-2009-swine-flu-pandemic-can-tell-us-about-the-weeks-to-come-134076

So we are going to be in official lockdown for 21 days starting from midnight today. All essentials will be open for 3 hrs in the state I am in during the day and for everything else you're just going to have to wait (not like you can't anyways). Medical services are on standby and the PM has asked everyone to take what we did on Sunday and extend it now. I think its for the best honestly but a lot of people are going to be running into trouble at the end of this week if they don't get access to essentials. Only time will tell if this works or not.

If you like Tom Misch and what he brings to the table go take a listen to FKJ with him in a studio. But that's some crazy good work in the vid you posted.

Over here they are now starting to tell people via comms that they should not go to area X or stay indoors and the messages are useful because it just stops people from visiting those areas. They are, however, not releasing the names and addresses of any quarantined people but I don't think the time is far from that happening too. So far I haven't heard or seen anything in my neighbordhood which is interesting considering the huge influx of people we have here but other areas where there are IT Parks and where most big companies are setup.

https://techcrunch.com/2020/03/21/whatsapp-search-web-coronavirus/ All that they need to couple with this is the ability to find the source and terminate services for three weeks on that user-account to deter people from spreading this kind of news and then we'll all be better for it.

I think this is a byproduct of thinking that staying at home for a day is some magical cure for a drop in numbers so people are just going out. I am also equally surprised at the attitude considering we don't live in times when access to information is hard and yet we're being borderline stupid about our behaviour. I know you want to get out and being indoors has damaged your enjoyment engine but what's fourteen days compared to getting sick and in some cases getting worse than just being sick. It's also more stupid considering the government has asked for lockdowns in certain states and yet today I looked outside and saw so many people walking around and all I am thinking is that you must be enormously thick to not understand the gravity of this situation. Like I said before, we will do nothing till death surrounds us and by then I hope it's not too late to do something about this.

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-everyone-dies-alone-heartbreak-at-the-italian-hospital-on-the-brink-of-collapse-11961130 I sometimes think that for people to truly stop being stupid about self-isolation they might actually need to be surrounded by death. Terrible stuff going on in Italy.

Being part of a band that has met every weekend for over a year now, when we found out that the lockdown was coming we did something similar where we just sat and talked and played music over Zoom and it turned out quite well.

I think they'll get whats coming to them after the world deals with this. I also dont think they'll be let off easy. I'd imagine this can be justified as homicidal in nature considering people have died from their decisions and knowingly too.

Try them. Seize all assets used in the trade. Take the money and just make kits for everyone to get tested for FREE. I can't believe that the first thing that went through their minds when they knew something dangerous was coming was to sell their stocks. Sometimes I wonder how human we really are.

It's been quiet to say the least. I live in a very busy part of Bangalore and today it was so quiet I actually stepped out onto the balcony to see what was going on. Then 5PM came rolling around everyone came out to hear people cheering and clapping. I think this is going to do wonders for the city and the news going around now is that Karnataka zones (Bangalore included) are pushing for a lockdown till the 31st. I thought people would still be roaming the streets but that's not the case. I quite like it if I am being honest. Spent four hours today on Zoom with the band just talking rubbish and playing stuff and trying to get some remote jamming going on. Thought it would be horrible but it was a good exercise.

I don't get why anyone would do what she did. But then again I suppose its what happens when you can versus when you can't get away with things just because of who you are. Silly and I hope she gets fined at the least.

It's caused some debate across social media about the use of the death penalty as deterrent in this case. The reason being is that no one knows for sure if it will stop these kinds of acts happening and the other issue being debated is why it took so long for the courts to come to a conclusion on the matter as well. I'd say the family got what they wanted in the end but I don't know if it really does anything to stop the act of rape itself. We're not going to see these things of acts stopped permanently, at least not in my lifetime.

Read it earlier today too. Some people are saying its irresponsible writing but I think with the current situation and people not taking enough precautions its good fiction.

The more I read about practices in the gaming industry the more I wonder when the money is really going to be enough to stop treating their employees worse than dirt.

Whatever happens as a result of it spreading the way it has stay safe and I think what you're going to do is a good deed but as I said before just stay safe. At times like these you're never sure what can happen and being safe around the elderly who are the biggest ones to get his in all of this is just as important as being precautious.

I think China's numbers are skewed personally. Still 3000+ is no small number of people dying as a result of the virus.

Italy have now got the largest number of deaths from this disease and surpassed China for the largest death toll. It's not looking like letting up either. To everyone on the European continent stay safe.
