  1. Watched the video today, and while I tried hard to focus, I couldn't do anything else but wonder how cringey it was Are all "e-sport" event full of such awkwardness? The public, the host, and the "champion" were all so cringey I actually rooted for the bot to win Anyway, back on topic - while this OpenAI Dota bot is obviously impressive, is it any more impressive than Deepmind's AlphaGo Zero?

Ask your pharmacist Generally, alcohol + antihistamines is not a very good combination.
  3. I had to choose between it and VLN today, chose the latter, but I will try to watch more of Formula 2 and Formula 3 this year, both offer good racing action.
  4. Ah, so we're starting the new competition of "let's see who can hide the most money", lovely.
  5. I know hehe, cornering speeds were an issue with ground effect in the past, but probably a proper balance could be found though, especially with all the technological develoments? Because as it stands now, it's shite. What else could be done? More mechanical grip, less aerodynamics in general? Probably better racing-wise, but I'd expect the cars would be a lot slower, and that's not what we want either, I suppose.
  6. hehe, it's an aerodynamic part between the front wheels and the sidepods. They are basically just lowering it so they can have more sponsor space on the chassis, apparently
  7. Now in English as well: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/135189/f1-seeks-urgent-fixes-for-lack-of-overtaking So basically, the are suggesting bigger rear wing flap for more effective DRS, simplification of the front wing by banning wing cascades, and DRS activation anywhere on track. Rules for 2019 they already agreed on: 80 kg minimum weight of a driver+seat to eliminate the disadvantage for heavier drivers simplified bodywork in the bargeboard lower exhausts with tighter regulations (not allowed to be pointing upwards) to prevent rear wing blowing

Ouch. My stepfather had them years ago, didn't need an op though as he was prescribed some meds that helped dissolve them and he just pissed them out haha.
  9. Mick was vice-champion in both Italian and German Formula 4 championships before getting promoted, so while he might not have been something really special, it's surely not bad? Last season in Formula 3 was his rookie year, getting accustomed to it, things should get better now that he's got more experience with the car. Last time I saw him was in Macau GP, sadly was forced to retire from the race, but not before registering the fastest lap time on the circuit which is extremely tough... His name definitely helps in terms of attracting sponsors and teams willing to give him a chance for sure, but on the other hand, it also raises expectations and pressure tenfold... Mick's still a very promising, quick driver who works hard though, looks to be intelligent and a top character as well, just needs to have more ruthlessness on track and get better at qualifying. Hope he makes it to Formula One one day. And yeah, Ralf's son, David, looks good too, I think this will be his rookie year in Formula 4! Also so much motorsport events to watch this weekend, I'm struggling with it
  10. Saw her name on the live timing for the previous test, had to think of you Talking about F3, I hope this will be Mick Schumacher's year... looked good in all tests so far, it's his second year, and he seems to be developing well as a driver.
  11. Kimi is winning at doing press conferences
  12. While I think that autonomous weapon systems is a very bad idea in general, I don't think AI is the problem - people are. Lowering of the cost associated with killing someone is one of my biggest issue with this. It reminded me of a short video I've seen a while ago:
  13. I think most people who complain (including me) are not really that upset about things like removing grid girls or adding the halo as such (both of which are still shite, but it's surely not the end of the world), it's more like they are getting frustrated seeing that things like that (e.g. making it more family-friendly, more show-biz like, more accessible to young generation with an attention span of a goldfish) are apparently the priority, instead of focusing on issues that put actual proper racing into jeopardy...
  14. Driverless cars on the track, controlled from the garage in a sim
  15. Have you heard about new Liberty plans for race weekends in the future? Apparently they want to introduce a qualifying sprint race on Saturdays. So apparently, there'd be two training sessions on Friday, then the usual qualifying on Saturday which would determine the starting grid for the qualifying sprint race on Saturday too (100 km, no tire or fuel limits), and THEN the end result of this sprint race would determine the starting grid for the usual Sunday race Apparently, they even considered creating a reverse grid too, but luckily that was rejected.

Well I just googled him and apparently he said that Claudio Pizarro is the best Peruvian football player ever, so he must be alright

Yeah, I thought that would have been weird for someone as young as you (or of similar age) to have already had a scouting career in a club like Leverkusen, haha.

Your mate was a scout at Bayer Leverkusen?
  19. Yeah, both lovely circuits too, although to be honest, most MotoGP circuits are. I've been to Sachsenring some 10 years ago (for ADAC GT Masters though), lovely track and great atmosphere too.
  20. I also love Misano, Assen and Phillip Island. The best track overall is probably Isle of Man though
