Ömer Toprak will leave the club in the summer. The right decision, in my opinion. He's good when he's fit, but unfortunately, that's not usually the case We offered him a performance-based contract, but couldn't agree terms in the end.

This might sound and look like a cool idea, but it's silly for several reasons 1. Why in the world do you need to use plastic packaging for bananas that are packaged by nature already? Just unnecessary waste. 2. Bananas release ethylene gas which helps them ripen, and storing a bunch of them together will make all of them ripen much, much faster, so the advertised difference in levels of ripeness will not hold. 3. Add 1 and 2 together - if you store bananas in a closed bag/package, ethylene gas will not escape and it will speed up the ripening process even further. 4. Why do they call it "one-a-day" and only have 6 bananas??? No bananas on Sunday?

Whoa, this must be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen in a race. A car catches fire, the driver manages to stop and get out, the marshalls then try to extinguish the flames, but the car rolls back on track on it's own, without the driver, and then crashes into the barriers and burns down

Kevin Estre in Grello started from P35, gained eleven positions in the first few laps, then had a contact with another Porsche which damaged his bodywork, got back to the garage for the repairs, and now after 1.5 hour he is leading the race

Bored of what, staying awake? I mean there's plenty of things to do, and simple resting or meditation or whatever are still viable options for winding down and recharging whenever it all gets a bit overwhelming! It would be great, as long as it doesn't automatically mean longer working hours And yes, we spend about one third of our lives sleeping. That's a bit shit.

I mean, I would welcome that if there were no side effects. Imagine all you could do with all that time!

I'm very skeptical that it's an accurate account of what happened to him. It goes against everything we know about the effects of sleep loss/deprivation, and I'm extremely doubtful that a brain injury (especially the frontal lobe, which is not related to sleeping at all) would change that so significantly, either. I could believe the part about him not being able to sleep; there are some diseases that cause it too, but I don't believe he would have been able to live for another 40 years. Maybe he slept 2 hours a day? Maybe he experienced multiple microsleep episodes each day? As @Bluewolf said, it probably got exaggerated over time until it became an urban legend of sorts. If the story is true after all, then he indeed was a medical oddity. It's a pity that more data is not available; neuroscientists would have a field day...
