I agree. While I’m not defending the likes of Keane, Winks and Delph in the slightest, I can’t offer alternatives that are better than those three at the minute.

It’s all well and good slagging players off but there’s many instances, most in fact, where the alternatives are not anywhere near good enough or the suggestions people make are not players who even play in the same position or role as said player. I’ve just spent ten minutes or so reading the comments section to the England squad announcement. I’ve seen Jack Grealish and Phil Foden suggested as replacements for Fabian Delph and Harry Winks by a lot of people. Neither play in the same roles as Delph or Winks and these are genuine suggestions. There’s not a lot of depth in England’s central defence or midfield, so you get people like Michael Keane, Delph and Winks in there.

Don’t get the “balls” shout. It’s complete rubbish, in honesty. Like that squad, though we’re lacking a top centre back. It’s probably our weakest area these days.

Agreed to go to Birmingham with the girlfriend while she does a work course thing on a Sunday. I agreed thinking I could get tickets to Wolves v Sheff Utd, however, I’ve just realised that it’s going to be pretty hard to get tickets to, so now I potentially have most of a day to kill in Birmingham. I now have to pray Walsall, Coventry and Solihull make it to the 2nd Round of the FA Cup and one plays on the Sunday.

He’s been with the England set-up at different age groups for a while now, so I think it’s a case of the face fitting and being seen to be part of a bigger plan, which to be fair, you can’t really knock as we’ve had success at different levels and now see young players emerge into the main side.

I understand that qualification for the Champions League would be priority for Valencia, after a spell out of it in recent years, but a 4th place finish, a European Semi-Final and a Trophy to continue their history of being one of the biggest clubs outside of the big two. It’s actually mental how blind these people are. Some people feel the need to boo players and it’s seen by some as a mark of respect. This clearly wasn’t booing and clearly wasn’t a mark of respect. In some respects, Lukaku knew what he was getting into in regards to Italian football, it’s been pretty well publicised over the years that there is a huge problem in their game with racism. It doesn’t mean he deserves such abuse for going there.

Shite like Twitter doesn’t help. Absolutely no proof there that anyone has actually said it or a link providing facts but it’s got at least 3,500 likes, however many RT’s and nearly 1,500 engaging with it despite there being no proof and people are daft and believe anything they see on social media. Having played and managed in Italy, he’s probably aware of how Italian clubs were run in the 80’s and 90’s and if they’re this blasè towards racism in the 00’s that it’s not heavily criticised or on the front and back of Italian newspapers, I can only imagine what racism would have been like there in the 80’s and 90’s.

Considering Serie A and Italian Football as a whole didn’t do anything when Moise Kean was racially abused and actually disciplined Kean, why are we shocked?
