I think it's about time ICC becomes a governing body of the sport not just a legislative one.

There should be windows of matches in the international calendar where ICC decides the fixtures, a tier based system should be nice.

It will give smaller teams reward for playing well and more exposure by playing top teams and teams like us and West Indies a wake up call to up our game.

England needed 7 from 7 with five wickets in hand but lost by one run

And also 5 from 4.

Naive from them to go for the big shots when simple 1s and 2s would have done the trick. Especially with Morgan on strike during the 7 from 7 situation - you'd expect better from captain.

Ngidi bowled pretty good in the last two of his overs too

What happened between Kohli and Kane ? Did Kane provoked him first ? Kohli's press conference certainly made it more of a controversy he's probably frustrated but should have handled it better.

Unnecessary by him, i think and still do that he's more of a composed man then for say Ben Stokes. Remember his series against us in 2012-13 didn't went well for him but he acted nothing like he did this time with dip in form.

What he did to Williamson was unnecessary, but borne out of frustration. If we take away the T20 series, then this tour as a captain and a player has been poor for him.

The whole charade of Kohli changing his ways, that started from last year's World Cup, was a nice little PR exercise - which included that stunt where he and his actress wife scolded the littering guy last year.

Anyways, at core he is a brash boy from Delhi. When things are not going for him, that side of him will always show itself. It doesn't help him that whenever the team doesn't do well, people start talking about Rohit and Captaincy. Rohit is by far the superior captain.

It will all depend on the IPL and T20 World Cup. If Virat fails in both of those as a captain, then we should except more noises made for Rohit.

I thought this would be a perfect place to put this.

I just finished watching this, and it is up there with all the good sports documentaries. I know, this is meant to be sort of a good PR for Australian cricket post sandpaper gate, but still all the 8 episodes are entertaining.

If you haven't watched the Netflix IPL series on Mumbai Indians, then this will be a whole new insight into cricket team's inner workings.

You also get to see certain players in a different light. Lyon and Paine are really likeable guys. And Steve Smith is just a genuine great. The way he talks and thinks, shows how he is a level above others.

Special mention to Zampa - Stoinis bromance, which is weird but hilarious.

On a side note, as an Indian who mostly saw Indians sides being thumped by Aussies in Australia (baring the 2002-03 series under Ganguly), it was great seeing Aussies admire our players and in some cases being plain frightened.

I would recommend this to all the cricket fans here. Just a good sports series.

Heard only good things about this. Must watch it and make use of my Prime subscription for once xD

The stuff I've heard about Smith is great as well. Excited to watch it.

Do watch this, you will like it.

They actually made me cheer for the Aussie team. Also, apart them England and Indian teams get a fair bit of limelight and compliments.

Yeah saw that.

Apparently their tiff goes back to the Windies team, when Sarwan got Gayle sent back from the tour, because Gayle would watch TV all night which in turn prevented Sarwan from getting his sleep. Immature from both sides.

I mean, these things are normal. This funnily reminds me of Sunil Gavaskar telling stories of how no one liked to share room with Sandeep Patil because he would always bring back girls, forcing his roomates to stay out all night :D.

More corruption and punishments, this time from Afghanistan

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/52609990

Quote

Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Shafiqullah Shafaq has been banned for six years from all forms of cricket after breaching anti-corruption rules.

Shafaq admitted to four charges while playing for Afghan club Nangarhar Leopards in 2018 and Sylhet Thunder in last year's Bangladesh Premier League.

The 30-year-old has played 24 one-day internationals and 46 Twenty20s.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board's senior anti-corruption manager said the ban was a warning for all players.

"This is a very serious offence where a senior national player is involved in the corruption of a high-profile domestic game in the 2018 Afghanistan Premier League T20," said Sayed Anwar Shah Quraishi.

"The player had also attempted but failed to get one of his team-mates to engage in corruption in another high-profile game during the Bangladesh Premier League 2019.

"It is an alert for all those players who think their illegal activities concerning the game of cricket will not be disclosed to the ACB.

"Our coverage is vaster than what is perceived."

Waqar Younis caught liking porn on Twitter.

And then he went on to blame a hacker for it. Further adding that this man has done the same things in the past, and he won't stop.

I was laughing while hearing him providing the explanation. The 'Man' here is clearly Waqar:D.

Seriously, why do people get so offended with this kind of thing. We all watch it.

Interesting  that cricket isn't able to start up yet in England.  Apparently it's because of the transmition of the disease on the ball. That's bollocks and its because of the economy.  I don't have an issue with the government starting up things that get the economy going again before other things. The economy  is important and waiting to long could cause more long term issues.   But stop treating us like idiots and lying about it

Good 2nd test between England and West Indies. Windies putting up a good fight against England. Blackwood especially in both innings.

England will probably still win this. Windies need 322 and they're 122-4. Given they've lost a day to rain yesterday it's good to see Test cricket back and potentially to a finish for this test, too. A great result for West Indies if they do manage to hold out for a draw, meaning they won't lose the series.

Elsewhere, T20 World Cup in Australia this year has been postponed.

50-Over World Cup in Feb/March 2023 in India has been moved to October/November that year.

Touring England? I doubt it. In your back yard you likely would though.

Yeah I doubt it too, sorry @Azeem! Hoping for an entertaining series, though. Looking forward to watching Babar Azam up against this England attack. He's hugely talented and one of the best batsmen around these days.

Also would be good to see how the younger Pakistani players fare. Shaheen Afridi especially. Shah is quick and is only 17!

Seems like Pakistan are regaining some reputation as a Test nation and this series will give them a lot of attention and airtime. Got some talented players coming through and hopefully the test series will be as exciting as the England/West Indies one was.
