Subscriber Dan+ Posted January 2, 2020 Subscriber Posted January 2, 2020 They spend more than most but they could still spend a lot more. They also frequently spend loads in both fees and wages on shite. £56mil for Fred wasn't it? Shakhtar won the lottery and their chairman practically admitted as much.

They spend as much as city and we have over the last three years. It’s their own incompetence that has them in this state.
LFCMike Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino. Subs: Adrian, Milner, Lallana, Origi, Phillips, Jones, Elliott.
Administrator Stan Posted January 2, 2020 Author Administrator Posted January 2, 2020 Milner in for Keita. Late change.

LFCMike Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Fucking hell, surely we can't get anymore injuries. Squad starting to look a bit thin now with so many players out

Administrator Stan Posted January 2, 2020 Author Administrator Posted January 2, 2020 Well that didn't take long. Baldock slips, Robertson gets beyond and crosses for Salah who slips it in very nonchalantly beyond Henderson.
Dr. Gonzo Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Just now, shut up said: Keita the most disappointing signings of the decade? Literally done nowt at liverpool, but was touted as one of the best in europe before he joined. He's been great this season?
Administrator Stan Posted January 2, 2020 Author Administrator Posted January 2, 2020 Sensational save from Henderson.

Dr. Gonzo Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Just now, shut up said: Started 4 premier league games all season. Yes, routinely good. Started the season injured? Look mate, you're entitled to your opinion. And I'm entitled to tell you if I disagree with your opinion based on how he's actually performed for us. The worst thing about Keita is he's injury prone as fuck.
Dr. Gonzo Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Just now, shut up said: So how has he been routinely good if he's only started four league games ffs. We're in January Ever heard of this little tournament called the Champions League?
Dr. Gonzo Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 1 minute ago, shut up said: I'm sure that's why you bought Keita for £50m. To have a few decent games in the group stages against fodder. He'd play more if he wasn't constantly getting injured, based on those performances.
Dr. Gonzo Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Sheffield United's approach is very very commendable.
Administrator Stan Posted January 2, 2020 Author Administrator Posted January 2, 2020 It's a shame Sheff Utd don't have better strikers to really threaten teams. Their midfield and defence do a lot of the (hard) work but to have McGoldrick & Mousset as 2 of your striking options doesn't exactly scream fear in to your opponents. In fact their position in the league is testament to the other parts of their squad, namely their defensive players or midfielders that love to get on the scoresheet too - Lundstram & Fleck especially. Wonder if they'll go for anyone this month to improve that area of the team.
Dr. Gonzo Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Just now, shut up said: That's part of being a footballer, staying fit. If you can't and are always injured then youre a disappointing signing. Fair enough - but I think that's the most disappointing thing about him. He plays well when he's actually healthy, it's just annoying he's not healthy as much as we'd like him to be. Same with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain really. They're both really good midfielders in our system that give us something a little bit different to Henderson/Gini/Fabinho/Milner & link the midfield with the attack better. But they're always fucking injured it seems.

And unlike recent promoted sides like Fulham, Wolves, and Villa... they've not spent a shitload upon coming up (or in Wolves' case, spent a lot and had a dodgy deal with a super agent) and the way they play has been really impressive. Pretty solid at the back, but they go forward in a way that's really easy on the eye. If they could get themselves a decent striker, they'd be even more impressive.
Administrator Stan Posted January 2, 2020 Author Administrator Posted January 2, 2020 Firmino's having a poor game. Doesn't seem to have clicked for him as much as everyone else. A couple of lazy/astray passes breaking down attacks.
