I thought I'd make a thread for this.

Barcelona won last night on penalties(I genuinely can't remember the last time Barcelona had a shoot-out?) after a 1-1 draw and Real Madrid play Athletic Club de Bilbao tonight in the second semi-final, with the final being held on Sunday.

As for last night, it was a very difficult game, especially without Messi, who is the man who makes the team tick. But it was a win in the end, although wouldn't have been without Ter Stegen in net, he made a number of incredible saves during the 180 minutes and then saved a bunch of penalties.

It was good to see Riqui Puig score the winning pen also. He took it with real confidence and deserves more minutes in this side. But saying that, it's where he would fit in in the line-up that's the problem as players like Pedri can't exactly be dropped and he's not suited to the role that Busquets usually occupies.

Ter Stegan has been the best goalkeeper in the world for a long time now. If he had better and more consistent players infront of him helping him tighten things up at the back he would get a lot more recognition than he already does.

If there's one club you can get over losing to in a final, then it's Athletic.

Barcelona need to sort that defending out from.set pieces mind. Athletic had the ball in the back of the net 3 times from set pieces in they game, one being chalked off for a multimeter offside. A ball into the box from a set piece is almost automatically a goal.

Griezmann was robbed of his night there(by his own defence), I feel for him as he's struggled in his Barcelona career so far, although in recent games he's looked much better, then the other night he scored 2, which should really be winning a game if the defence do their job.

Athletic were the deserving winners though, in fact Real Sociedad deserved to win the semi final in fairness. If it weren't for Ter Stegen being unreal.

As for Messi, daft move, the sending off and 2 match ban is nothing because he needs the next 2 games off anyway, given how he's still recovering from injury, and wouldn't play the Copa game either way, although up until that point, he'd never been sent off before for Barcelona, which was a great record in itself.
