That was actually decent, pressing much higher and forcing mistakes. Everton have been poor but I think some of that is down to us.

Need to keep up the same intensity second half.

Wilson deserves that. Had a similar chance which Pickford saved but he has run the channel well and always been an option to play it forward or give some link-up play. Should have scored the other shot from a cross as well.

From what I have scene in the second half this has been a decent performance from Newcastle defensively good but trying to counter.

Newcastle have been good today, why they can’t play like this in most games is beyond me. Wilson, Almiron, Fraser, Shelvey, Saint-Maximin are all good footballers.

2! Wilson finishes off the counter-attack. Lewis does well to assist.

No one can say Newcastle don't deserve this either. Been better for pretty much all the game.

We've got Graeme Jones on the coaching staff now so we should dominate the game and win.

Haha is right!

No team plays at their best all the time. For that to happen  all the players have to be mentally and physically at their best which is hard to do

1. I said in most games. 2. They hadn’t won in 11.

Could have been four for Wilson and we couldn't have complained.

This has been absolutely shite and not one of our players can leave the pitch with any credit here. Second to everything, a complete lack of both hunger and quality. Haven't turned up, they wanted it more than us and we've completely played into their hands. No excuses as we've got basically everyone available apart from Allan.

There's no point in grinding out 4 points against Leicester, beating Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs. Every time we lose at home to West Ham or Newcastle, those results get cancelled out one by one.

4 years of dreadful recruitment is rearing its head yet again here as we have absolutely no options to come on and make a difference in attack. We're still getting shot of players like Bolasie and Bernard who have been paid six figures a week for several seasons and you can count on one hand how many times they've positively affected results for us. And still Tosun is our second choice striker, we don't have any proper wingers apart from a 19 year old and when our first choice full backs are out we end up playing our other centre backs there instead.

Some good moments this season because of a better manager and better game management but there is so, so much work ahead on this squad.

Excellent. We've bought ourselves another 4 games. If we beat Palace on Tuesday then relegation pressure is probably off until at least Easter should things slide again.

The key is Hayden in the right position.

True but they were low on morale so that will affect performance.

Could Wilson get in the england squad or are there to many players ahead of him?

Wouldn't bring anything to the squad. But one of those token gesture call ups maybe if he starts scoring again

The Toon need to grab the points when they can. The teams below them that once looked doomed are showing a bit of life.
