El Profesor Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 There has been lot of talk about how deep and how good the french squad, but to be honest I find it less impressive than the 2018 version. I mean, they're loaded and it's a great squad, but at the same time many of their young players have failed to take a step further in their careers. E.g. Dembélé, Tolisso, Lenglet, Lemar, Rabiot.
Machado Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Best group of the torunament huh. Makes our result against Hungary seem spectacular, even if we got somewhat lucky.
Michael Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Hungary battled well and deserved the draw. Fiola's goal after he was put through by Sallai will go down in Hungarian football folklore. The French dominated most of the 2nd half, but only managed to score a single goal. France now face an interesting final group match against Portugal.
nudge Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 It's a pity Szoboszlai is still injured and had to miss the tournament...

Yeah, it's never easy when a team has to play without their star player. But the Hungarians have generally played well as a team and their key players have done quite well in their first two matches. Their trip to Munich against Germany in their final group match, will be a real test for them though.
