Yeah, looking forward to watching it with a takeaway tonight. League football returns, thank god.

Helping my mum a little at present so missing the game. Should be having a tribute to Whittingham as well.

Hoping for a good win just to kick us off. 2-0 with Giles and Moore getting the goals.

I must say I was very impressed with the Bournemouth kids this evening. They way they linked up for the second goal was pretty sublime. That's one of the biggest tests they'll have this season too.

Decent enough result for both given the circumstances. Bournemouth’s list of missing players was eight or nine deep and they’d have all been involved if for injury or suspension and West Brom’s starting XI looks pretty strong but beyond that, they have nothing and had six subs that included a keeper that will be gone by 1st September, Rayhan Tulloch who has played two games in his career and a kid in Ethan Ingram.

My mate's brother starting for MK Dons at Bolton. Was at Oldham last year and has waited patiently for his chance. Hope he has a good game.

Stoke score but concede straight away.

Cardiff open the scoring against Barnsley.

The backup they had went to Huddersfield to compete as first choice so he must be rated fairly highly if they're going with him.

Yeah he's decent, and trying not to be biased. He's had several loan spells to get him to where he is now. Hope he takes his chance.

First opening day win for us in 10 years.

Good win that. Daniel Ayala was a beast today. He won 13 aerial duels, and every other player in the match combined won 14.

Hull beating Preston 4-1 away :o

Blackpool draw with Bristol City.

Peterborough comprehensively beaten by Luton.

Not a bad start for 2 of the promoted clubs.

Went to Harlow Town v Great Wakering Rovers in a pre-season friendly, which kicked off at 1, so I knew I’d be home by about 3.10, so I could get into the Football League season. The game ended 1-2 to Rovers, who were comfortably the better of the two sides. Both play at the same level and the away side looked the more ready of the two for next weeks first League game.

Can’t talk too much about atmosphere and crowds because it was a friendly and there can’t have been more than 100 there but it’s still nice to be able to go to games again and hopefully this won’t be the third disrupted season for non-league clubs.

Fulham drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough.

Wilson in the first half, Bola equalising in the second.

Birmingham leading away at Sheff Utd.

That was the biggest surprise for me on the highlight show. With better finishing Birmingham could have been three ahead.
