Driver of the season – Going for Sainz, not many expected him to pip Charles. Team of the season – Am going for Alpine. Race of the season – Bahrain, kind of set the tone for things to come. Overtake of the season – Max in Mexico at the start. Duel of the season - Lewis vs Alonso in Hungary. Flop of the season – Am a bit disappointed with Ricciardo. This is where I thought a Max championship would be possible again (and subsequently lost all hope but we shall not talk about that). Overtake - Will have to think about this. Duel - Also not sure yet. Flop of the season - Lando Norris staying out during the rain in Sochi. Most boring race of the season - Spa. Cunt of the season - It was a team effort, everyone. Just curious why so many have chosen MErcedes? They've done well second half of the season to claw things back. Especially after feeling they were slightly hampered by new regulations. But I feel that at times during the season they imploded at times. This is referring more to the strategic team who made some pretty awful calls. Mercedes were one of the teams that suffered from the rule change on wheelbase or whatever it was over the summer and they started from miles back in pre-season testing to be neck and neck with Red Bull for most of the year and to be honest, had the faster car at the end. They kept finding new ways to push the envelope like Hamilton's re-mapped engine giving them the advantage they needed in the closing races. They did make a few fuck-ups in other parts of the year strategically but that's happened a lot to all of the teams and can be forgiven in such a close title race.
