UPS and DOWNS

CHAMPIONSHIP
image.png

  • Fulham can secure the title if Bournemouth don't beat Blackburn on Saturday
  • Bournemouth will secure promotion if they avoid defeat against Forest, on the presumption both win or both draw on Saturday.
  • Luton will secure a play-off spot if Middlesbrough don't win and Blackburn/Millwall draw or win.

LEAGUE ONE

image.png

  • Wigan will secure the title by matching results of Rotherham and MK Dons
  • Rotherham win the league by hoping to win while Wigan lose. If they are level on points, Wigan will finish ahead as the tie-breaker after GD is goals scored.
  • MK Dons can win the league if there is a 6-goal swing in GD. They can secure promotion if they draw and Rotherham lose (also with a 6-goal swing in GD), or if they win and Rotherham draw/lose

image.png

  • Sheff Weds/Sunderland/Plymouth are currently in the play-offs. Wycombe, in 7th, need to draw and hope Plymouth lose, or draw and hope Sunderland lose by more than 2 goals. If they win, they just need one of Sheff Weds/Sunderland/Plymouth to drop points.

image.png

  • Morecambe will survive by matching one of Fleetwood or Gillingham's results
  • Fleetwood survive by matching Gillingham's result
  • Gillingham need to draw and hope Fleetwood lose, or win and hope only one of Fleetwood or Morecambe lose
  • AFC Wimbledon must win, and hope Fleetwood suffer a heavy loss, and Gillingham lose
  • Doncaster's GD is very low, so even a win and Fleetwood/AFC Wimbledon/Gillingham all losing is probably not going to be enough...

LEAGUE TWO

image.png

  • Forest Green and Exeter have already secured promotion
  • Northampton can join them if they win and the teams in 4-7th all lose.
  • Tranmere and Salford need positive results and a lot of teams above them to lose to have a hope of remaining in contention for the play-offs...

Neil Harris went full Millwall after Gillingham were relegated. He said all seven players under contract wouldn't be there next season before he described the standards at the club a disgrace.

Nothing new really from Harris. Would happily through everything under the bus before himself.

As for our result and performance, meh once again. Will be glad to see the back of this season and hope for a good rebuild, even under difficult circumstances. Says a lot when I can list a handful of players at best worth keeping in the entire squad.

Yeah, it was the beginning of the end for him at Millwall when criticised the attitude and professionalism of a lot of the squad that got him promoted. He got the chance to reset the squad because of his popularity amongst the fan base (like he will now) and it just didn't work now.

Good first season for Cambridge (that's right, my lesser mentioned other team) back in League One finishing 14th. They had a really good run of results using the 1-0 FA Cup win at Newcastle as a springboard which removed any genuine threat of relegation.

I also have a mate who supports Morecambe who came up alongside Cambridge last season so glad to see them get away with it today as well.

Everton, Cambridge and FC Isle of Man.

You're worse than @Danny with West Ham, Brentford and Hayes and Yeading.

Some of the FCIOM lads have gone back to play the last few games of the season for the local teams. The club I play for (9th out of 11 teams in Division 2 of 2) drew one of these teams (placed 3rd in Division 1) in a cup game today so I happened to find myself up against a couple of them. We lost 11-0 xD. So as long as FCIOM are low enough that I can end up on the same pitch as some of their players they don't count as a team I support.

And if you don't like it, too bad, because you and I are going to be getting to know each other quite well next season as the most regular posters following Championship teams. :coffee:

Again, I'm a born and bred Düsseldorfer. I was a Fortuna Fan long before I went down that glory hunter path. I regret that. It took me a while but I am back home. And I'll stay home for the rest of my life.

Fulham winning the title in style then. 5-0 up at home to Luton with 20 mins left.

Hope it doesn't demoralise or derail Luton...

Actually looking forward to seeing the virtual playoff that is Bournemouth v Forest tonight.

Should be a hell of a game. Forest know they really need to win it to realistically get automatic.

Gonna be a lot riding on it. Wouldn't surprise me if it got quite heated given what's at stake, especially if Forest are leading towards the end. Bournemouth won't want to be sacrificing that 2nd spot and play 3 extra games.

For obvious reasons I can't stand Forest but gotta admire what Cooper has done there. Didn't take notice at the time but they were bottom when he took over. Insane turnaround. In saying that, if Luton meet them in the play-offs I'd love for Luton to beat them.

0-0 at half time. Forest should have had a penalty but ref incorrectly flagged Surridge offside.

Bournemouth leading with a few minutes to go. Promoted as it stands!

Promoted now, thanks to Kieffer Moore.

Think we get a little bit of money out of this as part of Moore's transfer, which would be nice.

God, I don't miss these officials.

Actually makes you thankful for what we have currently.

Every week on the highlights show there's always something that's jaw droppingly bad.

It beggars belief how we've not done something about it.
