Administrator Stan Posted November 22, 2022 Administrator Posted November 22, 2022 Kick-off 16.00 (GMT) VS Venue - Khalifa International Stadium, Al Rayyan Standings:
Administrator Stan Posted November 25, 2022 Author Administrator Posted November 25, 2022 GAKPO!! What a player he is. Excellent strike.
Lucas Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Going to hurt us knowing we'd practically had Cody Gakpo signing agreed just before the transfer window shut, only to balls it up. No chance now. Looks a star.
Administrator Stan Posted November 25, 2022 Author Administrator Posted November 25, 2022 Taken about 25 mins but Ecuador have finally turned up.
N U F C Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Ecuador score but it’s ruled out for offside.
Administrator Stan Posted November 25, 2022 Author Administrator Posted November 25, 2022 Correct decision as the player was right in front of Noppert.
Administrator Stan Posted November 25, 2022 Author Administrator Posted November 25, 2022 Ecuador equalise! Valencia taps in after Noppert saves a shot. Question of offside...
Administrator Stan Posted November 25, 2022 Author Administrator Posted November 25, 2022 Wow. Ecuador very unlucky not to be ahead. They're well on top now. Netherlands look rattled.
Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted November 25, 2022 Subscriber Posted November 25, 2022 The Dutch, when they get sent home, will have to take a hard look at themselves and ask how they assembled a squad that completely lost interest in the game towards the middle of the second half. So many lazy passes, absolutely no will to push the ball up and play as a unit. Ecuador on the other hand were just hungry for it more and really should have won that game. In other news, Qatar are out of the WC. First to play, first out. Seems reasonable.
Michael Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 The Netherlands had a great early start to this match with a lovely goal from Gakpo, as his left footed crisp shot, found the corner of the net. Ecuador though fought back well. They created several chances and eventually scored through non other than Enner Valencia. A shot from Estupinan was blocked and parried by Dutch goalie Noppert and Valencia was on hand to score from the rebound. That was Valencia's 3rd goal at this World Cup and his 3rd goal in 2 matches. Ecuador would go on to hit the crossbar through Gonzalo Plata, but the match finished in a 1-1 draw. The Netherlands will not be happy with their performance today. Like some other European sides, they appeared to tire and it could be that the high humidity levels got to them.
Michael Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Enner Valencia is the current leading scorer at this World Cup, as things stand right now. The former West Ham and Everton forward, has scored all of Ecuador's goals so far at this World Cup.
