That's a big statement from the board to back Conte there.

For what it's worth I don't like the way Lisbon have handled this. To agree terms and then pull out in the hope of getting more is a real poor thing to do. Nuno did similar to us over contract negotiations. It reflects poorly on the people involved.

I think so, although maybe not under Conte. He’s going on loan to Rennes for the rest of the season with no buy option. He just needs games at this point. A shame Conte hasn’t trusted him cause the other options are not very good. Doherty going to Atletico Madrid too
