Max's Secret Santa gift from Charles made me laugh. Also George Russell is exactly the type of guy you'd expect to get socks from. So it made me chuckle when he actually gifted some to Zhou. Alex Abon gifting KMag a black and orange flag was hilarious as well. Quote

German Formula 4 will not even be taking place next season, and it used to be one of the strongest junior formula competitions at that level. There are no big coming up talents. It is all just too expensive. Heck, even non-formula racing has issues. DTM has been declining for years, was sold earlier this year, and will become just another generic GT3 series from next season. 1 1 Quote

Haha, thanks, but I don't care that much - I'm mostly into endurance racing anyway, and VLN keeps on delivering. With WEC entering the new golden age and Porsche returning to the top class now things are going to get even better in this aspect! 1 Quote

OrangeKhrush Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 https://www.planetf1.com/news/aston-martin-amr23-loophole/ having gone through the 90's and early 2000's, to see the dead carcus that remains of F1's anti competition rule stiffling is all but killed my enthusiasm to be bothered. Old school F1 allowed any innovations as long as it may the displacement, dimension, weight and ride height guidelines for safety it was allowed and teams tried all kinds of things to get the edge. the FIA is only interested in protecting Mercedes, Ferrari and Red bull from outside threats because they pay for the privilege. gone are the days of McLaren, benneton, Williams coming in and upsetting the Apple cart. the FIA needs a radical take over and restoration of the principals that made formula one the pinnacle of motor sport from the 60s to the 90s. 1 Quote
nudge Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 So Liberty Media Corporation have sent a letter to FIA warning them of potential legal action due to Ben Sulayem's criticism of inflated price tag being put on F1 that he posted yesterday. This all comes from the alleged 20 billion USD offer by the Saudi Public Investment Fund earlier, which Liberty Media reportedly rejected. 1 Quote

You can't sniff at the fact that George beat Lewis in the standings and won the team's only race of the season. However, Hamilton actually out-performed Russell for most of the season. Dropped a lot of points after a sloppy start but then generally had the better of him for most of the year. By that point, though, the car was miles clear of the midfield and Lewis was only scratching back a few points over George for finishing a place or two above him in the top six. It's going to be difficult for them if they're in a championship fight with Red Bull, for example. Perez simply won't take points off Max on a regular basis but Lewis and George will. I think Lewis tones down his mistakes and finds more consistency when he has a championship-contending car and therefore something to lose from going all out for a win/podium. He would beat George over the course of the year in these circumstances but not every weekend, and those weekends could cost him a title against Max. Depends what the competitive order looks like though. Mercedes may have improved in the back end of the season and nicked a win, but as things stand, they still have a long, long way to go to catch Red Bull for next year. @mufc Quote
