Wiesbaden - Mainz is a local derby. Ulm - Bayern will be interesting. Greifswald - Union is an old DDR showdown. Any dates on these yet? Quote

Bit like saying Feucht versus KSC would be an old BRD showdown. Edited July 2 by Rucksackfranzose 1 Quote

Subscriber Coma+ Posted July 2 Subscriber Posted July 2 I had Greifswald confused with another club. I thought they were in Berlin. Quote

Since VFB are contesting that absolutely necessary Supercup final on the weekend, when all other teams will be playing bar themselfes Leverkusen and their respective opponents the first round, their match at Münster will be on Tuesday, the 28th of Aug, at 20:45 CET. Leverkusen's match will be at the same time a day later. All other matches will be played between 16th of August and the 19th. If you're interested in a specific match, look it up. Rucksackfranzose Posted August 16 Author Posted August 16 Three cup matches at the moment all more or less abot 15 minutes into 2nd half. And the standings? Well,Buli clubs Mainz and Hoffenheim are on 1-1 at 3tier club Wehen, 4th tier club Würzburg respectively, and Buli club St Pauli are 1-2 down at 4th tier club Halle. Upsets don't appear impossible in neither of these matches. Love the cup. 1 Quote
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted August 16 Subscriber Posted August 16 Great to have some matches back. I like the lineup to start, resting the players that have recently joined etc. Goretzka dropped entirely was the one talking point making the rounds. Quote
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted August 16 Subscriber Posted August 16 1-0 Müller on the rebound but that was all Kimmich, what a first take and run, great ball from Stanisic. And that was a quick brace for Müller. One ball in from Kim and Gnabry is sent through with a pass accross for Müller to tap home. Quote
Rucksackfranzose Posted September 5 Author Posted September 5 (edited) This is the second round time table, if matches are shown on free TV, that's mentioned. Tuesday, October the 29th: 18.00 CET: Offenbach - Karlsruhe Augsburg - Schalke Leverkusen - Elversberg Leipzig - St Pauli 20.45 CET: Stuttgart - Lautern Regensburg - Fürth Wolfsburg - Dortmund (live on ARD) Köln - Kiel Wednesday, October the 30th: 18.00 CET: Freiburg - Hamburg Hertha BSC - Heidenheim Frankfurt - Gladbach Paderborn - Bremen 20.45 CET: Bielefeld - Union Dresden - Darmstadt Mainz - Bayern (live on ZDF) Hoffenheim - Nürnberg So the TV stations decided to show Bayern and Dortmund, how unbelievable creative, since it's not like the always show these teams. Of course I'm aware that the two of them are the clubs with the biggest following. Yet, ARD and ZDF are financed by public money with the explicite order to reflect diversity of opinion and society. That why broadcasting fees are collected, wit explicite mention of minority opinions and intersts for crying out loud! How about not running for ratings , if you're financed by a fee also collected from people, who aren't fans of the two biggest clubs, for a change? The cup's attractive because of possible upsets everybody is longing for- they should have shown two out of the matches at Offenbach, Dresden, and Bielefeld respectively. That is without even mentioning that those three clubs could do with a bit of recognition gor eliminating clubs from leagues higher in the pyramide in the first round! If it has to be matches between their precious Buli teams that they show Frankfurt Gladbach would've been a good alternative between clubs, that both have over 100k members! Well, at least, Bayern and Dortmund play away at Buli clubs and don't have home matches against 2.Liga clubs, saying that because the TV stations had shown the latter, as well, despite the almost inexistant potential for an upset these matches would have had. Rant over! Edited September 5 by Rucksackfranzose 1 Quote
Subscriber Coma+ Posted October 23 Subscriber Posted October 23 Stuttgart against Kaiserslautern will be a great match for the atmosphere alone. Quote
Rucksackfranzose Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 (edited) Of course it's debatable whether Köln going through at home against Kiel qualifies as a proper upset, yet the 3-0 result is surprising, given Köln are the team playing 1 tier below the other. Also feel for the public broadcasters: Since Dortmund are out, they have to show a match neither involving them nor Bayern next round, they will have to evaluate the matches, instead of doing what they always do. I ended up watch RB Leipzig vs St Pauli as that was aired on here (full match, they had DFB Pokal Zone on the other channel). RB Leipzig probably deserved the win (ugh) but St Pauli did well to get back into the game for a brief period. Do you expect any other upsets/shocks tonight? Quote

Dresden over Darmstadt would be another potential. I would like to see Bayern and Hoffenheim go out. Quote

Wouldn't say it's excluded Bielefeld and/or Dresden could win versus Union and Darmstadt respectively. Also could see Hertha BSC becoming a bananaskin for Heidenheim. And they still lost that game despite Frankfurt being a man down for 75 minutes. Meanwhile 3rd Division side Bielefeld knocked Bundesliga team Union Berlin out of the cup. Quote

Yea, they have some real quality players. Especially Omar Marmoush, who I think, will end up at a European top club very soon. 1 Quote

Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted October 31 Subscriber Posted October 31 Mainz plan was to seemingly foul Musiala every time he touched the ball. Musiala's answer was to score a first half hattrick in between said fouling. Quote
