English pundits really look like clowns now don't they? xD When Pep was managing Barcelona, they all claimed how he wouldn't get a team to play like that in England(yet he's doing it with a inferior team), how it's too physical, couldn't handle Stoke on a Thursday night, blah blah blah.

Luckily we are seeing a better bunch of younger pundits hitting the scene now, such as Lampard, for example, who would be embarrassed if he heard nonsense like that in the studio.

Tbf, they probably at the time didn't take into considerartion that Pep would inject nearly half a billion in two years on transfers, to help achieve that.

Everytime a whisk past the title of this thread I keep on thinking it actually says;

MAN CITY NEED 8 MORE PLAYERS TO WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

I swear I’m not even joking... Every single time I think it says that to then see it’s talking about points.

You aren't the only one.

He had no choice, Pep inherited a team of old men and would of needed big changes who ever came in    ..at least Pep can say it's he's team now and not still Mancini's 2012 team, that's how old it was

It's not a fact of how much has been spent, the level of quality of the players or anything mate. They made out as if the style of football would be impossible to implement over here due to the physical aspect of it. But in reality it's aload of nonsense.

United are proof that money buys you shit if the manager is wank!  ...they have spent more than us, pay alot more wages and will finish the season empty handed

Don't think they have spent more than you

They have spent a lot more when you factor in the full package, wages & agent fees etc   ...75miilion on Lukaku's fee alone xD   ..same crazy amount for Pogba but with silly wages then 2miilion a month Sanchez wages

Last year Man City finished empty handed, unlike Man Utd/Mourinho. The league is done but Mourinho's team has a better chance of winning the CL this year than Pep.... Pep + a great squad doesn't always = CL(BAYERN)

Last season Pep was building his team by replacing the 2012 team which had gone over the hill   ...believe in the process :)

Right. A team with Aguero, Silva, KDB, Fernandinho. And then an injection of a half a billion in transfers in 2 years.

The myth that he can turn a sows ear into a silk purse is dead.

That's partly down to what Guardiola is known for. He took youth players and implemented a great philosophy. The market at that time wasn't nearly as crazy too.

They probably thought Guardiola would come to England, take youth players and try to play expansive attractive football. Whereas he has done that, but has done it virtually the opposite of what he did with Barca. No youth players and out spending everyone.

Ha ha thats bollocks. Utd got a chance but not a great one. Mourinho isn't the manager he was he can't win it with small teams anymore

You cant make a silk purse with old men and the players you mentioned, Silva, Fernandinho are the wrong side of 30 and Aguero is fast approching his 30th birthday  ..he had to spend, we had the oldest team in the league, now we have a very young Pep team

If Manchester City win eight of their remaining 13 Premier League games then it will be mathematically impossible for any other club to catch Pep Guardiola's team and that's if United win everyone of there last games, the more points they drop, the less we need to win the title. Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs could both still finish above united too, what game will the title be won at?

Outstanding fixtures

Burnley (A)
Leicester City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Chelsea (H)
Stoke City (A)
Brighton & Hove Albion (A)
Everton (A)
Manchester United (H)
Tottenham Hotspur (A)
Swansea City (H)
West Ham United (A)
Huddersfield Town (H)
Southampton (A)

My old man is a City fan and I got him tickets at Christmas for the Swansea game.

Long shot but fingers crossed, that's the one where they could clinch it. Would love to see him have his moment given all the years he's seen more down's than up's.
