Watching Les Herbiers supporters and players so happy and joyful to receive runners-up medals at the Stade de France is very heartening indeed. Some of that magic has been lost in football in recent years.

Such is the different in clubs: Les Berbiers manager doesn't even have his coaching badges yet!!

All things considered a 2-0 loss is very respectable as well.

are they in the 3rd tier? What kind of home attendances do they get?

Yes, the third tier, and might get relegated! They don't even get 2,000 in attendance. Played today in an 80,000 Stade de France. Captured the imagination of the entire nation.

PSG having Les Herbiers captain lift the trophy together with Thiago Silva on the podium was a very nice touch. Thiago Silva isn't my favorite player in the world (one of my least favourite, actually, meant to do a "Who's Your Least Favourite Player" post) but that was very classy on PSG's part.

Something we're not used to seeing/not something you see every day.

didn't realise this was today. Massive effort to get to the final and to only lose 2-0 to what was still a strong PSG side (included Cavani, Mbappe, Lo Celso, Silva, Dani Alves, Rabiot) is commendable. Not sure if PSG took their foot off the gas, mind

Wonder if this publicity and financial reward of getting so far will help Les Herbiers in the next few seasons.

Yes it was a good effort. Emery was saying that he made sure to put out the strongest possible squad today to show Les Herbiers respect.

Gallantry and "doing things the right way" is still alive in football.

They’ve done fantastic getting this far but having their captain lift the trophy with Silva? Fuck that shit. They still didn’t win it. It isn’t an U8’s 5 a side competition.

Yeah letting them lift the trophy was a little cringy but PSG gave a guard of honour to the other team... nice gesture this

Is it? every club does that to the losing club in the CL final?

Having them lift the trophy with them is beyond the wierdest thing ive seen in a while. It's like rubbing it in their faces and i'm astonished they agreed to it.

Ridiculous they allowed them to lift the trophy. Regardless of how well they did, they lost and losers dont get to lift the cup.

The look on their captain says it all... dont think he was too happy/excited about lifting the trophy along with Silva
