Yeah hard to defend Trump anymore (I was doing so loosely anyways). He was starting to do things right for a week or two but he's back to his norm.

It is not the first time he's done something like this. The two problems here are that he's Gareca's assistant who frowns on these sort of things and it's also breaking the law. His job is now at risk. Especially after that disastrous Olympic qualifying campaign.

Yeah that’s a strong point. More capability to travel and receive tourists. Though it works both ways I think. Lima is by far the most densely populated city in South America (besides maybe São Paulo). Buenos Aires is bigger but you have the support of suburban areas. Lima on the other hand is basically 99% city. That’s the kind of place where a virus like Coronavirus thrives because it’s so easily transmissible. Just look at New York.

Argentina is one case behind Peru with 589. @Berserker why do you think this is? Surprises me you have so much given we are more densely populated in places and you took the right measures just in time like us. You also have more deaths, with a better health care system than us.

I wasn’t expecting to be bailed out for free. We had to pay $1400 to get out. I was visiting my family. Dont listen to Machado either. I may like being in Peru for social reasons more but there are activities in Canada and has all that nostalgia to keep me around.

What are you on about? I love Canada. It’s a wonderful country and I plan to stay there for the forseeable future, but I’m not happy with how Trudeau has handled this whole thing. Doug Ford has done better. It’s like the situation with Trump vs State Governers.

I’ve been waiting in a bus for 2 hours. Apparently the military guards aren’t letting the embassy go inside. The coordination for this has been pathetic.

I’ll post my experience when I get back home but the first thing different is that we fly out from the military base rather than the airport. And yeah there’s several people here.

North Korea 100% has cases and I’d be willing to bet they have more than 1000 at the least. Again I wonder if they came from the DMZ border on the South Korea side.

@Gunnersauraus so it turns out I was wrong. The coastal wet markets in Peru do sell mostly fish products but there's one market in Iquitos that sells a wide variety of animals like monkeys and caimans. It's worrying for my country but not the world I don't think. Our air traffic isn't anywhere near China, much less Iquitos.

Think it's been more than that mate. It's been extremely strict and the police/military have full control of everything as it stands. Happy with how we've been doing. Ecuador, Chile and Brazil all skyrocketed in cases in the last 2 weeks while we are barely below 500 when early patterns suggested we would be in a bit of trouble.

Yup - got the flight ticket. Finally going home!

So looks like they finally sorted the flights and assuming all goes right, I should be going home in the next few days.

I'd rather something a bit smaller. Something along those lines though. I'm probably gonna start camping more when this pandemic ends so I'd like something that can accompany me on those trips.

That's strong advice. I had a friend tell me similar. Though I do want a working and extremely obedient dog. Not just one that will slack off at home. Looking for that type of breed.

Being stuck in Peru is one thing that's made me really lose faith in Trudeau, you're right. However, I also think he's got no big decisions in him. He was terrified to shut the US border because of historic relations between the USA and Canada. He only did it because he mutually agreed with Trump to do it. That's just one of many examples. He just follows whatever Trump is doing really. If you see patterns between Canada and the USA in regards to coronavirus response, they are eerily similar. It's just one guy talks too much and the other one stays silent. It's a shame really because Trudeau's father Pierre was maybe the best prime minister in Canadian history. This guy is a disgrace compared to him. I agree that Trump hasn't done a good job and I'm not suggesting he has. However, I can at least appreciate some of his decisions to at least Bolsonaro and Trudeau. I'm sure you can continue to educate me about Boris Johnson, as I only know as much as I've read.

I don't wank off Trump though. It's clear he's not doing a good job. I prefer him to Boris, Bolsonaro and Trudeau based off these events. Doesn't mean I think he's doing good
