  1. Excellent, I'll give it a read. Appreciate the insight
  2. @nudge Any study on how well the vaccine has affected the population? And I mean vaccine related studies, not just dropped cases which could also be down to lockdowns. There's a lot of tabloids putting scary headlines to gather clicks. There was a Sydney man who got the virus vaccinated after one dose, and a few fully vaccinated long term homes in BC with outbreaks, though it does say the disease is milder and less contagious. Sorry if it's a stupid question, just trying to fully understand how the vaccine works. If it fully prevents you from getting it, or if you get it and don't die from it.

    Nobody questioned my memes though
  4. I want my vaccine before I go abroad + I want to go to arctic Norway in the fall. However, I am VERY close to caving and going on a summer trip to British Columbia, outside of Vancouver, for wildlife viewing.
  5. Wonderful team goal in this match. Manucci lead 2-0.
  6. Lineups for the first game between Manucci and Cantolao
  7. It's an odd one. Germany 2010 was the best of them I've ever seen, and would have won that World Cup if Spain wasn't better. Germany 2014 was underwhelming for the most part, but they got the job done. The squad quality was too much. Germany 2018 was bad, but I'm not all convinced it was Low's doing. This new generation isn't even close to the previous one, Low was certainly part of the problem and was found out as a shit manager because he no longer had the same squad quality that he used to. I'm not convinced they would have been the main favourites even with another manager. That said, this Germany side now is still much better than the one late 90's/early 2000's so they can never be ruled out of anything regardless.
  8. Games today: Manucci vs Cantolao Universitario vs Melgar Sport Boys vs UCV
  9. Started yesterday, my main league. Sport Huancayo started on the front foot with a 1-0 win over Deportivo Municipal. Pretty comfortable too, in fairness. Muni had a few chances at the start but then fell flat in the second half. Cienciano beat UTC 1-0 and missed a bucketload of chances. UTC look the worst team of the 6 so far. Sporting Cristal, the defending champions beat Binacional 4-0, in a comfortable win. I say they are the favourites again. 22 year old Tavara scored this goal:
  10. Of course, I'm gonna assume she knows but we'll call anyways and remind her.
  11. Perfect, my dad would tell her to not go out yet, but she won't listen. So as long as she's safe we're good I think.
  12. I was gonna say you got 7k cases yesterday, then I checked a graph and you had 58k a few months ago . Fair play. I'm dearly hoping this is the beginning of the end of this whole thing. Peru is gonna be fucked for a bit longer, as I said every time I go on FB there is someone lamenting the death of a loved one, but here in Canada we are at the start of a third wave that is apparently going to be less deadly thanks to vaccinations in the elderly. At least here we'll be good after the summer I reckon and hope.
  13. That's great news. I'm actually amazed Pfizer is in Peru at all, as the whole scandal with the government was around the Sinopharm vaccine, which I think doesn't have the studies yet.
  14. Well I meant "safely". I know for a fact that the law in Peru only allows her to go outside if vaccinated. Let's hope what you say is true. I'm guessing it stops transmission too, as I've been reading? She lives with my uncle who is very close to me, but is also at risk.
  15. @nudge If my grandmother gets her vaccine (pfizer apparently) will she be allowed to go outside again? In Peru I know the law says the elderly can't go out until they get their vaccine, but my worry is how effective the vaccine is against the Brazilian strain.
  16. In some good news though, my grandmother is getting her vaccine today
  17. Every time I go on FB, I read about somebodies friend who died back at home in Peru. The situation there is horrible. I've luckily had few losses so far, but I've had losses nevertheless
  18. A journalist friend in Peru passed away today It hurts a lot.
  19. Says 605 CAD but I saw cheaper prices on Skyscanner.
  20. Some good vaccine news came around for Canadians today, so I'm ready to start planning (but not purchasing) some trips without feeling like it will take a lifetime. In October I am thinking of going to Iceland, Norway and Svalbard (part of Norway). Oslo to Longyearbyen isn't as expensive as I thought it would be, about $250 cheapest.
  21. Oh shit, I remember Mark Gonzalez being a Bielsa favourite for Chile back in the day. I never thought clicking on this thread would result in me reading that. Some further reading suggests he'll be OK, but it's awful news regardless.

    Making Music

Today I recorded myself singing some Bossa Nova, and I remember why I stopped music. Or at least looking for a brand new style. It's not because I think I'm bad, but rather because the times I think I sound good, people don't agree, and the times I think I sound awful, people think I sound good. And I can't be dealing with that reverse psychology nonsense. My judgement in this industry hasn't been good, so I've lost all motivation to continue.
  23. All stats are relevant with context. They are blown out of proportion far too much.
  24. I’m very sorry for answering a question.
