  1. We saw Sweden swing towards the poltical Right recently. Part of this swing was seen as a policeman blew the lid on a breakdown of violent crime over a weekend and then read the countries where the offenders came from. There was the possibility of legal action as he spoke out of turn although due to public support no legal action was taken.
  2. Yet the voting rights can be changed though would require legislation.
  3. Political fights brweing in the US over continued illegal immigration. Abbott of Texas and De Santis of Florida following Presidential orders they cannot stop illegal border crossings have started moving illegals to Northern States. 50 were flown to Marthas Vine Yard, who said they could not cope and someon piped up the Obamas have a ten bedroom mansion........... http://www.yourdestinationnow.com/2022/09/marthas-vineyard-shelter-coordinators.html
  4. Disappointing to only draw against Salzburg, Sterling scores for us yet again. Auba looking rusty and Broja lively when he came on with an excellent run out of defence into attack. Many chances missed, Mount, Ziyech, Broja yet they score late on due to Silva going to ground and not clearing it properly and on the subsequent cross Azpi not sharp enough to close down and block the attacker in the centre. This aside we looked to play more progressively.
  5. Why do we need the All Stars when we have World Cup, European Cup, League of Nations and World Club Championships?
  6. I personally don't think CFC will remain more that a couple of seasons under Boehly think we will end up with another foreign billionaire. I would have liked to have seen TT given more time yet think the owner saw some below par football late last season and it continued into this one and then a difference of opinion after our last result.
  7. Currently on a channel called Quest.
  8. Thanks was not aware and now copied it across.
  9. Gene editing - remove an entire species?
  10. I've caught a few of those Wheeler Dealer series where they buy popular older cars and aim to restore them making a profit. I did a few things on an old Cortina back in the day before realising that was not my thing yet do enjoy seeing what they do to these cars to get them ship shaped and make some money. Of course it help to a have a decent workshop with a car lifting contraption. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheeler_Dealers
  11. In his last months at Chelsea Alonso's attacking play dropped a notch not sure if this was due to uncertainty about his next move yet he was not as predatory or clinical as in previous seasons.
  12. I remember as a kid probably '73-'74 Woolworth's had a 'pick and mix', where you had a paper bag you could fill up with any assortment of sweets you liked for a small fixed price. It was a real treat when you were allowed to do this, always remember bizarrely the pink chocolate mice that I never chose.
  13. Certainly is a stalemate seems to me the US is happy to send weapons to see how they function in a real war setting. The real loser of course is the Ukrainian people as their country faces being devastated. Russia has made comments about Transinistra the area to the East of Moldova with its Russian speaking citizens. It could become a future hot zone. Latvia is also interesting and though I do think there will be trouble there possibly as much as 40% of its people see themselves as Russians rather than Latvians.
  14. Rewatched Full Metal Jacket the other night only the second time I watched and some thirty years later. An unusual film almost two parts, the training with Marines being put through their paces by the excellent tough guy Ronald Ermey. You could be forgiven for thinking the film was finished when private Pyle has his full metal jacket incident. Then we get to see Vietnam where private Davis (Modine) is assigned to the Army press corp and it is here he fences cleverly and with wit with his commander about the embellished content they are being asked to provide. Eventually asking for a transfer to the front and off he goes at first all laughs and mutual backslapping until the VC advance and then it is a game of death and with snipers. Davis wears a CND badge on his lapel much to the annoyance of some officers though he gets away with it as he has 'Born to Kill' inscribed on his helmet. His wit stays with him until the platoon eventually shoot a female VC sniper. They want to leave her mortally wounded and convusling and he does not. They walk away and for the first moment in the film you sense Davis has lost his wit, he hesitates and then shoots and kills the woman. My rating 8/10.
  15. Don't get too excited Alonso to come.
  16. Hold your breath sounds like she is not 'taking prisoners' might be someone just as controversial to come.
  17. I quite liked that idea in AVP where the Pyramid starts moving and then they get to pick an item from a opening in a rock which triggers the game of Predator vs Alien. Of course it takes a while for the humans to work out what they have begun. Thought the intro was good too as they recruit all these experts in their own fields and then take them to Antarctica to begin their search.
  18. I don't see it that way. Chilwell has been given time to get fit and not rushed in. Cucurella can also play LCB so we have cover if Koulibaly needs a break too. Where I think TT can be criticised is for not starting Broja instead of say using Pulisic.
  19. Yes I think we got lucky then too and I think this is why Chalobah does not play that often. He struggles against quick tuning forwards.
  20. Most home teams get some breaks from the ref, it is the home crowd effect and something about Anfield means they a bit more than most. I heard a lot were disgruntled by length of the injury times. I think Old Trafford is similar and I recall in the terraces at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea got a penalty back in the day the crowd cheered and me and a mate under our breath agreed we were lucky.
  21. I don't know Chuck McGill yet that actor was in one of the more bizarre X-files programs and he was funny too.
  22. Never heard, of him, I know three others that have it too. I was talking with a tech chap several years ago and was saying his son kept getting headaches and he was at a loss with what to do. I said I had problems with wifi and electric fields and asked about them at his home and then the penny dropped, 'Shit his bed is between my two routers'.
  23. When using the PC a lot started get pains in my fingers. I am sensitive to wi-fi and Smart tech etc (childhood head injury) and eventually realised the laser in modern computer mice could give me pain in the fingers. I taped a bit of aluminium foil over the top where the gap is and so far so good.
  24. They didn't hang about, Wout Faes https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62750312
  25. How is the midfield workign out with Eriksen, he seems to be paired with McTomminay who has a decent engine yet are you being overrun?
