  1. Actually, and I'm honest here, it's short-sighted the messure a league's competition level only by the fact, which team won the title. Also Real Madrid won more Spanish titles, than Bayern won German ones, although the Spanish championship is younger than the German. To be frank, English people pointing at the Buli with the note of failure to compete has more to do with the English inability to give German football any credit - highlighted by their delusional claim England and Germany were rivals on International level, although Germany won 7 big titles compared to England's 1- than with reality. That said I share many people's desire for a champion that aren't Bayern.
  2. There was a German championship before Buli's introduction, and the English title is older than the Premiership, as well.
  3. Correct me, if I'm wrong, but although Leicester were a new champion cakking Blackburn Rovers new is a stretch, considerig the won the titles in 1912 and 1914.
  4. Hope the public prosecutor lodge an appeal, and the sentence will be exacerbated.
  5. Dangerous assault is a degree of assault, the most serious one, in German juristical terms.
  6. That violent Schalke scum, that beat a Man City fan to coma at their CL meeting in 2019 has been sentenced to 2 years on parole and 35k personal injury compensation. The sentence is comparatively mild, because the court only found him guilty of dangerous assault instead of attempted murder as the public prosecutor demanded.
  7. Congrats on the promotion. @Devil-Dick Willie, @nudge.
  8. This article is in German and a long read (3 pages), still mesmerizing and well-writen. Also it's posted posted because my pet peeve (investors) are concerned. Seem to remember to have heard about this documentation project, didn't know what happened to it until I read this article. http://11freunde.de/artikel/all-or-nothing-beziehungsweise-nothing/5783105
  9. 2 matches of the 32nd matchday (Leverkusen - Frankfurt and Gladbach - the plague) will be played on Monday because Fankfurt and the cancerous ulcer qualified for The Europa league semis and play on Thursday before that weekend. Normally a match on sunday would be enough of recreation from this, but Sunday happens to be May the 1st (Labour day), when professional football, like on Good friday, is banned from being played in Germany.
  10. Also Bayern need to replace Lewandowski, who never won an international title, and Müller and Neuer, who only won 1 each. I had some proposals for their replacements.
  11. Honestly: I liked your interpretation much more than mine.
  12. Interesting interpretion: Always thought Wissenschaft had as much to do with "Wissen schaffen" as Landschaft, Priesterschaft and Mannschaft with "Land schaffen"", "Priester schaffen", and "Männer schaffen" respectively. In this case - schaft wouldn't come from schaffen, but were the German equivalent to the English suffix "ship" , which would mean Wissenschaft were literally "knowledgeship" and a Wissenschaftler were someone committing to knowledgeship.
  13. Please be so kind and do me favour. We got a "women feet" thread, please spare us posts of your fetish in other threads,
  14. Hope you didn't scare the poor animal too much. Scorpions are very sensitive. Interesting specimen, by the way.
  15. Bremen District Court ruled Markus Anfang has to pay a 36k Euro fine. They judged his fraud worth 90 daily rates, and set the daily rate with 400 Euro, which is hefty considering he's out of work for a while now. Since Anfang didn't appeal this sentence is final.
  16. Knapp daneben ist auch vorbei. Kommt davon, wenn man sich Wasser holt, obwohl man auch Bier holen könnte.
  17. Former Eintracht Frankfurt and DFB legend Jürgen Grabowski, Euro winner 72 and WC champion 74, died yesterday 77 years old. RIP
  18. Don't know, what to say in this specific case, since I didn't follow Hertha BSC enough, to have an opinion. Nonetheless a good show case, why clubs should have an extended look on other possibilities to come to money before they decide to lay in bed with an investor. http://www.kicker.de/tage-des-donners-bei-hertha-bsc-893401/artikel
  19. Schalke appointed Mike Büskens as caretaker for the last 9 matches. After this season Büskens, who will be at the helm for the third time, returns to his old job as assistant coach.

  21. This is a nice gesture. http://www.kicker.de/vfb-spieler-springen-finanziell-fuer-fans-in-hoffenheim-ein-891445/artikel For those. who don't speak German- Stuutgart's players pay the difference in price for their travelling support to Hoffenheim, who got seats, to the price payed by their supporters, who got tickets for the standing section.
