I had absolutely no fear of heights as a kid/teenager (we'd actually walk on the rail bridge railings and roof edges of 12 storey buildings, we idiots), but acquired a certain uneasiness towards it later in life, now I get a bit lightheaded whenever I encounter heights, haha.

I would probably wet myself, but I'd love to try it!

Sounds awful, mate... Seriously, just get out of there as soon as you can, for your own sake. Even if it's just a tiny room in a shared flat. It's sad that it has to be like that, but you'll be better off long-term. So sorry that you have to go through this.
  4. WTF is this and more importantly, why is it in this thread?...
  5. I've seen the movie but not the TV series...
  6. Haha I actually felt so exhausted I had to take a nap...
  7. Hope it's some English club we can rip off completely But I could see him leaving for RB Leipzig.
  8. Rashica is definitely leaving. I'd even wager a bet and say that the transfer is already arranged. If we stay up, we have to sign Bittencourt and Toprak, Selke's loan is for 18 months I believe, so we only have to sign him if we manage to stay up for two seasons in a row. Still, that's a lot of money for us, and it would be financed through Rashica's sale, no doubt. The only question is, how much do we get for him. As a club that has been regularly under-selling key players, I worry about the same scenario with Rashica too.
  9. VLN (well, or Nürburgring Endurance Series, as it's officially called now) first race of the season tomorrow! Nürburgring Nordschleife, 141 cars, 4 hours. Also the next weekend will be crazy, haha.
  10. Loving this heat wave, perfect weather.

Good luck, hope things do get better and you find a solution that's best for you, one way or the other. As someone who cut ties with most of the family a few years ago, that was one of the best decisions I ever made and in all honesty, I wish I had done it earlier. I obviously don't know the specifics of your situation, and definitely don't want to give any unsolicited advice, so just one thing - don't be afraid to make changes if you feel that you're being taken advantage of, or if living there is detrimental to your well-being, especially the mental and emotional side of it. You work and study, and apparently you're also mature enough to be saving money and plan for the future, so you clearly have a good head on your shoulders and know how to support yourself - meaning you will be fine, even if things get tough at times...

Yeah, taking on a large student debt doesn't sound great... do you have a job? If not, any chance of getting one (part-time, maybe?) or some other side gig for extra money to pay for a shared flat or something like that? Maybe try to enquire about any TA positions available at uni once you start your Masters? That's what paid part of my bills when I was doing mine, always a good idea to ask around. What about student housing? Any chance of getting that? I do hope you find a way out of it, that's a terrible situation to be in, especially for a 21 year old, and I'm sorry to hear that your family doesn't support you. It's not how it should be...

  15. Olympus have announced that they will be quitting camera business after 84 years https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-53165293 Very sad news.
  16. Rapid will now be even more pissed with LASK penalty deduction haha.
  17. Also LASK won their game against Hartberg 5-1 so that means if Rapid draw or lose, LASK will take over the second spot.
  18. Starting my challenge of reading all the Hugo Award for Best Novel winning books that I haven't read yet (in a chronological order). First one, is also the first ever winner of the award: The Demolished Man by Alfred Bester Sounds like it might have inspired The Minority Report...
