    Congratulations! what's your degree in?
  2. Is Rise of Kingdoms any good? Was always curious but never tried it.
  3. I never tried LoL either, just randomly discovered this Legends of Runeterra game which is a spinoff based in the LoL universe... Yes, it's a card collecting/deck building and strategy game. The PvP battles are surprisingly fun, and what I really like about it is that there's absolutely no need to spend any money to progress... The artwork is also fantastic.
  4. Got quite into the Legends of Runeterra in the past few days. Quite fun CCG based on League of Legends. Anyone else playing?
  5. @IgnisExcubitor I finally started listening to Cigarettes After Sex properly thanks to you, and I love it...
  6. Yeah it does make me wonder where the story goes from there... I thought Layton was going to call the shots and be the hero of the tail revolution, don't think they are going to keep him in the drawers for long (maybe an episode or two?); he's just too big of a character. I imagine Melanie will start having troubles with the first class passengers (especially Folger family) now that LJ got arrested for those murders, things might get ugly. Especially if her 'Mr. Wilford' myth gets busted... I think the head of security is also suspicious already (that scene with the Churchill speech).

    Making Music

Ooohh I like the sound. Made me wonder where that buildup leads to... I have no other comments as I have no clue about making music tbh, but it does sound very intriguing... Agree with @Stan that it has a certain "darkness" to it, love that.
  8. All viruses mutate. It's a natural part of their life cycle. RNA viruses have especially high mutation rate. SARS-CoV-2 (which is an RNA virus) is also mutating as it passes from person to person, although relatively slowly, and those new versions are extremely close to the original. Mutation isn't some scary shit anyway, it's just a change in the virus' genetic code which is the result of "errors" that happen when the virus replicates itself in a host. Most of these mutations are very minor and have absolutely no significance on how the virus behaves.
  9. Edit: @Lucas, here's the link for doing it with a smartphone, maybe give it a try sometime! https://www.lonelyspeck.com/photographing-the-milky-way-with-a-smartphone/
  10. You can get decent results with some phone cameras, but generally yes, a dslr is your best bet. Posted an article earlier in this thread with a tutorial and general advice for astrophotography, check it out if you're interested. https://www.lonelyspeck.com/how-to-make-an-amazing-photo-of-the-milky-way-galaxy/
  11. That's a big achievement and a huge milestone in the Arab world, will be following this with interest. Good luck, UAE!
  12. Have you watched the latest episode of Snowpiercer yet, @Bluewolf? I just did, and whoa...it keeps getting better and better. Did not see that coming...

  14. Just got Space Haven today (early access). Haven't tried it yet, but it looks fun...
  15. China is planning to construct a space station within the next 2 years. The first module will launch next year, 11 launches in total will be conducted to finish it by 2023. The station will host three astronauts for six month rotations, and will have two experiment modules for international projects in the areas of astronomy, space medicine, space life science, biotechnology, microgravity fluid physics, microgravity combustion and space technologies. 6 experiments have been selected already for the first cycle, 3 more have received conditional acceptance. A co-orbiting two-metre-aperture space telescope will also be launched following completion of the basic station configuration. https://spacenews.com/rocket-arrives-as-china-targets-july-for-tianwen-1-mars-mission-launch/ Selected experiments:
  16. First new book I have picked up in a long time. Released in 2019, read nothing but great reviews. It's supposed to be a blend of cyberpunk, space opera, and political thriller that examines how a society’s memory steers cultural and political events, and offers a meditation on the lengths people will go to be free. Has been shortlisted as the finalist of the 2020 Hugo Award. Talking about that, I challenged myself to read all the books that have won (or have been on the shortlist to win) the Hugo Award since the very beginning in 1953. Quite a list to go through...
  17. @Bluewolf Thought you might enjoy this... "The Things" by Peter Watts, a short story of John Carpenter's The Thing told from the alien's perspective. http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/watts_01_10/
  18. Jupiter changes colours and patterns all the time Granted, it should be noted that the image has a high degree of artistic freedom as people process them from the original JunoCam raw data, so the colours are not by any means accurate...and definitely not as pronounced as in the pic above, whoever processed the image boosted the colour saturation for sure. Nevertheless, it's stunning...
  19. Jupiter photographed by NASA's Juno probe last Tuesday. Just look how detailed it is...
  20. Oh, LASK equalise just as I'm typing the previous post
  21. Aaand WAC score a late winner. 2nd in the league now, 5 points behind Red Bull.
  22. LASK waste their lead again... Liendl just equalised for WAC, 2-2. More or less the end of LASK title hopes. Romano Schmid with two assists though, nice.
  23. Less than 30 minutes until the start... so excited to finally see a proper live race again!
  24. Takuma Sato put it into the wall already...
