  1. Finished watching the 1978 season today. Not a particularly exciting season in terms of title fight, as Lotus dominated from the very start, with Ferrari and Brabham trying their best to compete, but not quite able to. Some exciting races nevertheless, with powerful ground effect cars, quite a few daring overtakes, a lot of reliability issues, crazy marshalling, even crazier safety procedures. It was overshadowed by Ronnie Peterson's fatal crash at Monza though; one of the worst crashes I have ever witnessed on TV; it almost made me sick at my stomach. The season also featured Gilles Villeneuve's first even win (in Canada, nonetheless). Interesting piece of trivia: Tyrrell were the first team in the history of F1 to start using computer systems in their car (Tyrrell 008), designed by Karl Kempf. Moving onto 1979...
  2. I mean you're not wrong, on paper RB are miles ahead any other club in the league. The gap due to Red Bull "sponsoring" is just too huge, their squad value is almost equal to that of all other clubs' added together, ffs So it's even more frustrating to see a club that manages to compete against their domination in such circumstances, only to fall apart months later. Very disappointing...
  3. Well, they played Red Bull twice already this season - claimed a draw at home against them and won the away match at Salzburg... so it's not as if Salzburg are unbeatable. The break seems to have ruined LASK'S run, but the biggest blow was Goiginger picking up a serious injury just before the break as he has been instrumental for LASK this season, on top of that Potzmann got a serious knee injury at about the same time too; that's two key players missing. And yes, not even second tier, they actually played in Regionalliga just a few seasons ago. Nevermind just fighting for the domestic title this season, they also put in some great performances in the Europa League, their first time ever in European competions. They were also screwed by poor refereeing in the qualification to CL rounds, would have qualified for the CL if it wasn't for very poor officiating.
  4. LASK are shambles. Finished the first part of the season on the top of the table with a 3 points lead, then the whole illegal "coronagate" training affair, and some truly uninspired performances after the break. Already fourth in the league now, with both Rapid and WAC ahead of them, meaning that if it continues and the don't improve, they'll miss out on European spots next season. Would be such a pity...
  5. I just didn't expect such blunt language, to be honest The game is very promising, feels like somewhat of a hybrid of Rimworld, FTL and Spacebase DF-9. Having a lot of fun with it... Not just a base building, but also space exploration, procedurally generated galaxy, ship to ship and crew to crew combat, asteroid mining, aliens, various factions with different relationships between them, hyperspace jumps, derelict ship salvaging, missions away from the main base, crew relationships, etc. There's a nice backstory too, but the game feels very open ended. Oh and the soundtrack is spot on! Very ambient and atmospheric.
  6. Played Space Haven for a few hours today. First unexpected challenge: potty training. Life in space ain't easy...
  7. New Star Wars game teased, trailer do be revealed on Monday...

No, but I cook a damn good spaghetti alla puttanesca... Why?
  9. For Paderborn? Come on, we're not THAT bad!
  10. Bittencourt, Rashica, Füllkrug AND Pizarro all in the match squad for tomorrow
  11. 1 at Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donnington each!
  12. It's a pity. More European races incoming then? Please no Sochi.
  13. For me it's the other way around - it actually makes me feel better as I find the process of planning future trips relaxing, for some reason. The problem is going down the rabbit hole and researching new destinations and things to do until early morning hours I'll probably make a road trip next month, if everything goes according to plan...
  14. Haha, this is in front of me on the table with multiple routes I already set up and new ones I keep on drawing before going to bed each night

    Congratulations! what's your degree in?
  16. Is Rise of Kingdoms any good? Was always curious but never tried it.
  17. I never tried LoL either, just randomly discovered this Legends of Runeterra game which is a spinoff based in the LoL universe... Yes, it's a card collecting/deck building and strategy game. The PvP battles are surprisingly fun, and what I really like about it is that there's absolutely no need to spend any money to progress... The artwork is also fantastic.
  18. Got quite into the Legends of Runeterra in the past few days. Quite fun CCG based on League of Legends. Anyone else playing?
  19. @IgnisExcubitor I finally started listening to Cigarettes After Sex properly thanks to you, and I love it...
  20. Yeah it does make me wonder where the story goes from there... I thought Layton was going to call the shots and be the hero of the tail revolution, don't think they are going to keep him in the drawers for long (maybe an episode or two?); he's just too big of a character. I imagine Melanie will start having troubles with the first class passengers (especially Folger family) now that LJ got arrested for those murders, things might get ugly. Especially if her 'Mr. Wilford' myth gets busted... I think the head of security is also suspicious already (that scene with the Churchill speech).
  21. All viruses mutate. It's a natural part of their life cycle. RNA viruses have especially high mutation rate. SARS-CoV-2 (which is an RNA virus) is also mutating as it passes from person to person, although relatively slowly, and those new versions are extremely close to the original. Mutation isn't some scary shit anyway, it's just a change in the virus' genetic code which is the result of "errors" that happen when the virus replicates itself in a host. Most of these mutations are very minor and have absolutely no significance on how the virus behaves.
