  1. I have no idea what her plans are for 2023, to be honest. Maybe ELMS again? There haven't been any announcements so far...
  2. Yes you did, that team has an all-female lineup, hence the name "Iron Dames"
  3. Which ones? Plenty of drivers still missing from the list. Michael Fassbender is expected to be given the seat in Proton Racing's car #88, thus allowing him to fulfill his dream of competing at Le Mans...
  4. Finally! The entry list is revealed, and it looks spectacular. 13 Hypercars, 11 LMP2s, 14 LMGTE AMs. Very strong turnout, considering it's the breakthrough season for the top class, and even more manufacturers (and customers) will be joining next year. Hypercars: LMP2: LMGTE AM: Full entry list: Jacques Villeneuve still racing full-time at 51
  5. Ferrari just revealed their hypercar driver lineup for 2023 WEC.
  6. I'm curious if you watched the video? Because while I don't know his reputation, this video pretty much just looked int the issue of high number of excess deaths currently, which IS quite worrying. He didn't discuss potential reasons for it, and just presented the data, which I think is fair enough. He also said he's got three shots of vaccine himself, haha. I think healthcare systems worldwide are going through a massive crisis, in general. Anyway, here are the actual numbers in the EU. Germany had around 20% excess mortality in October 2022, almost twice as high as in October 2021 or 2020, with the difference that then the excess deaths could have been explained by Covid for the most part, whereas in 2022, it doesn't account for even half of the excess deaths. I guess autumn/winter can partially be explained by other respiratory viruses like flu circulating, but excess mortality was significantly higher in Germany for the most of the year:

    Cooking

Try a different brand? Apparently, the differences can be massive and lower quality brands can be overwhelmingly bitter, so maybe that's the problem... I personally find sesame taste very overwhelming in general. I use sesame oil when I make some stir fry sauces, and even a small teaspoon is very noticeable.
  8. "From my point of view, it's all the other planets that are spinning backwards".
  9. Yep, Venus rotates very slowly and also "backwards" (i.e. in the opposite direction to other planets). Such a weirdo!
  10. I always wondered what would happen if you attempted to make a landing on a gaseous planet. Like, obviously you can't land as there's no surface, but what exactly would happen? Well I mean in reality you would just get crushed by immense pressure, but ignoring that. Would you just fly through the planet? Or are there some liquid layers you can swim through? Or is there an actual solid core? So many questions...
  11. A day = the time it takes for a planet to rotate once around its axis A year = the time it takes for a planet to complete one orbit around the Sun It takes Venus 243 Earth days to rotate around its own axis, therefore 1 Venus day = 243 Earth days. It takes Venus 225 Earth days to make a full orbit around the Sun, therefore 1 Venus year = 225 Earth days. 243 > 225, therefore 1 Venus day is longer than 1 Venus year.
  12. A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus.
  13. Nope, not yet... But I would highly recommend watching The Farthest, it's easily the best space documentary out there.
  14. First orbital space rocket launch from the UK is planned for Monday.
  15. First tip would be not spending all of your money on beer Other than that, I would just say try to automate as many tasks as you can, such as putting water sprinklers early on so you don't need to water your plants manually, etc. Also, if you run out of money, catching fish is one of the best ways to earn it, but it's pretty hard, I struggled with it. Try to upgrade your backpack as soon as possible, it costs quite a lot when you just start, but the double space is worth it! Also, build chests to keep things in. Repair the bridge near Elliot's house as soon as you can. Always check the TV! Now I'm thinking of reinstalling it again, too
  16. It'a cute, chill, and addictive game, at least at first. I started it several times, and from my experience, you get totally into it for several hours/days, but then slowly the interest fades... I remember playing Harvest Moon on the PS, loved it and was proper addicted to it
  17. We'll sort something out...
  18. Keep me updated with your film adventures, please. I hope to finally be able to set up a proper darkroom this summer too, once I take care of some important things and can hopefully go back to living my life. It would be cool to exchange experiences and tips as we progress

Countryside? I'd release them at the seat of government
  20. I hope you get into film, but to be honest, it sounds like you already have I might be biased, but it's extremely rewarding and even cathartic at times. It's probably no surprise that in the tiring world of fast consumption and instant gratification, the younger generation is actually rediscovering film photography... I mean, the demand has grown so much that Kodak have hired over 300 film technicians and are looking to hire more, and Ricoh/Pentax have recently announced their plans to make a new film camera, and are getting the veteran film engineers to teach their skills to the young ones. I honestly never thought I would ever see it happen again, but I am very happy about the revival. Oh man, you're in for a real treat! Shooting film is great, but developing film is even more fun, and there are so many things you can actually experiment with, both while shooting and processing, especially with B&W film... Since you mentioned ISO, there's a fun technique called pushing or pulling film, and it can produce some very interesting results in certain situations. There's even infrared film which you use with certain colour filters for taking some totally crazy, psychedelic images. The options for creativity are literally endless... One advice I would give is to actually take notes of each picture you end up taking - basic information such as the aperture, shutter speed, film type and ISO, lens used, metering mode, lighting conditions, etc. It will help a ton later on.

I'm more excited about re-creating wooly mammoths!
  22. First movie partially shot on ISS/in space: Looks really beautiful. Not too sure about the storyline; basically a doctor is brought on the space station to perform a heart surgery on a Kosmonaut in zero-gravity. Will definitely give it a go though.

A trail camera in Australia allegedly spotted a creature that seems to resemble a Tasmanian tiger!
  24. I started with film when I was 15, then switched to digital years later, then lost interest at some point as the process just wasn't rewarding anymore, and switched back to film again about 4-5 years ago. Digital is definitely very useful, accessible and has many other advantages, but it doesn't do much for me in terms of enjoying the process... I only use digital + a telephoto lens when I'm doing some bird/wildlife spotting these days. Otherwise, I'm currently shooting exclusively with my Pentax ME Super... That's literally my setup now, there's nothing else.
  25. So that camera is basically new nice find... Make sure to share some shots once you try it out! That's a heartwarming story... And yeah, this is the best part about hobbies in general, but also about photography specifically - it can truly connect people... For some reason, whenever you comes across someone who shares your love and interest in it, there's a feeling of instant mutual respect and approval You should definitely keep in touch with that older gentleman I also agree about mirrorless - I am fascinated by the progressing technology, image quality, speed and what not, but there's no way I could justify the costs, haha.
