  1. Well he's a part of Ferrari academy after all... Meanwhile, Toto Wolff questions the feasibility of Mercedes junior programme due to a lack of seats available for young talents. I found his suggestion to give teams a third car and make it mandatory to put a young driver in it very interesting.
  2. Breaking: Leclerc to replace Kimi in Ferrari in 2019!

I love fresh, properly prepared fish... It's great. I especially like red snapper, barracuda, sea bass, marlin, catfish and flounder. Special shoutout to smoked salmon (with some salt, pepper and a touch of lime juice just before eating it) and brined/pickled herring (preferably directly from the barrel and accompanied with chopped raw onions). And a veeeery special shoutout goes to European smelt, fresh tiny fish that smell like cucumber when you fry them fresh and then eat as an appetizer... Haven't eaten it for more than a decade, miss it so much. Seafood is amazing.

  5. First updates on Pavlenka: luckily no fractures! Suspected concussion, and he will spend the night in hospital, but it seems it is much better than it looked! Still that's four injured keepers now with only Luca Plogmann available, lucky it's international break next week...
  6. Yep, hence Malaysia. Can't wait! Not sure how long I'll stay, but since no visa is needed, I figured I'll just decide once I'm there, depending on the weather and my workload...
  7. Vietnam next month, Malaysia in November. Thinking of something over Christmas/New Year too, but not sure yet...
  8. I think it's a good no-risk transfer... Transfer fee less than a million, significantly lowered wage requirements, not even 30 yet, and definitely more than enough talent to be useful for any mid-table club with Europa spot aspirations. I'm especially happy since he's the type of player we needed as we barely had any cover for injury prone Bargfrede, and with Käuper now injured until October too, we didn't have any backup in defensive midfield at all. Sahin might be a bit slow and not at his best anymore, but he certainly gives us more options and as you said, he can still pass the ball an has a good vision and intelligence. Considering how many players have found their old form at Bremen before, I'm very optimistic and think it's a good deal by Baumann.

  10. An interview with Torsten Frings in Weser Kurier about the current state of football. Quite an interesting read... https://www.weser-kurier.de/werder/werder-bundesliga_artikel,-erklaeren-sie-das-mal-einem-kind-_arid,1763389.html
  11. Yeah, I probably should and I considered learning it properly once I arrived, but decided against it. It's a weird language and as long as English + bits and pieces of Khmer suffice in daily situations, I don't really have enough motivation to learn it for some reason, haha. Never happened to me before.
  12. Not that much. I know the basics for daily situations (e.g. greetings, polite expressions, introductions, ordering stuff in a restaurant, asking for a bill, numbers, directions and then various basic words for different things), but I wouldn't be able to string a few sentences together otherwise... Why?
  13. Yeah, he admitted it's his fault and said he completely misjudged the situation... Tough penalty, but he deserved it. At least not a race ban haha.
  14. Hülkenberg has been given a 10 place penalty for causing that crash yesterday.
  15. I loved watching Germany's national women's team when Silvia Neid was in charge, especially the 2007 World Cup in China. That squad was sort of a "golden generation" for me, with the players like Prinz, Laudehr, Grings, Angerer, Bajramaj... It truly was a joy to watch. They won it and defended the title without conceding a single goal too. Also that Brazilian striker Marta was (is?) incredible, easily the best women's football player for me.
  16. I remember bits of Phantom Menace, but never really watched them all in full...
  17. Do yourself a favour and watch Cobra Kai, a 10 episode sequel to the Karate Kid. I was very skeptical, but it's actually great!
  18. Just finished rewatching the original trilogy of Star Wars. Love it - still 10/10 Next up - the prequels...
  19. Aww Here's a video of Lewis scratching his butt to make you feel better: https://streamable.com/jinov
  20. Don't try too hard... @Tommy is on holiday and probably isn't reading this anyway
