  4. All good books, I'm sure you'll enjoy it regardless of which one you choose! I'm back on the sci-fi train again too, will start this tonight:
  5. Werder is one of the first clubs in Germany (and Europe?) to use artificial intelligence to find players. Apparently we discovered Pavlenka with the help of this software as well. Quite an interesting, unusual read. https://www.butenunbinnen.de/werder-nutzt-kuenstliche-intelligenz-scouting-100.html
  6. McLaren need constructor points, can't see them letting Alonso go. Don't think he'd quit early anyway, either. But this is quite a mess, really
  7. Yeah, she's completely off the rails, definitely a great character writing there... I also like Rip (especially now with the backstory) and also Jimmy, I think he has a bigger role to play.
  8. I didn't particularly enjoy Kayce's (didn't realise that's his real name, I thought it was Casey haha) family storyline either (too much drama and clichés), but I'm still enjoying the show! All the scheming, power play and dysfunctional family dynamics keeps me interested
  9. Off topic, just wanted to say that I love your avatar After Gaitonde, Katekar is the next best character in the series!
  10. I don't know mate, I'm on Windows 7 and I'm not planning to update. I just noticed the "activar windows/ ve a configuracion para activar windows" message plastered all over the screeenshot you posted haha.
  11. Looks like someone needs to activate his Windows
  12. Hoeneß alone doesn't decide the club's transfer and squad planning policies though. It's him, Rummenigge, Salihamidzic and Dreesen, not to mention the wishes of the head coach. Bayern are planning big transfers for the next summer apparently; this year it's getting rid of the "dead wood" in the squad, generating money and then rejuvenating the squad.
  13. The Left Hand of Darkness is the obvious choice. The Dispossessed is the next one. I also love Robert A. Heinlein's books.
  14. Have you read anything by Ursula LeGuin?
  15. The astrophysics of Interstellar is based mostly on Kip Thorne theories, that's the part of the movie I enjoyed most. If you haven't read it before, I highly recommend his Black Holes and Time Warps, a book for lay readers written in a similar style to Sagan's and Hawking's best ones, although much more complex and harder to understand.
  16. Haha thanks, but I didn't mean the ending of the movie as I thought it was perfectly fine and I know a fair bit about the main theories and concepts of astrophysics - it's just that after those 3 hours, the whole experience felt a bit underwhelming... It's a good movie, but it doesn't live up to its own ambition, in my opinion. I had a feeling that Nolan tried hard to make Interstellar this generation's 2001: A Space Odyssey, but didn't exactly manage to pull it off...
  17. Interstellar Finally managed to watch it. Found the premise and the storyline interesting, and really liked the scientific plausibility of it as well as quite a few interesting and thought provoking concepts. At the same time, it isn't particularly groundbreaking and in the end, it just feels a little bit... underwhelming? Granted, a sci-fi epic of this scale was always going to be a huge challenge for the film creators, and while it's not perfect, it's still well worth a watch. Don't think I'll watch it again though. 7/10
  18. I'll take it as a confirmation that the book will feature a chapter dedicated solely to the god of football that is also known as Claudio Pizarro Nah, sounds good mate.

You can shoot a fucking RPG at petrol barrels, LPG tanks and makeshift wooden huts for 500$ in the shooting range just outside Phnom Penh. In the past (and probably now in some "unofficial" ones) they even offered livestock as targets A few months ago, an Australian tourist and a Cambodian man were killed and three others were injured in a shooting range explosion when something went wrong (they allegedly picked up an UXO).This country scares me sometimes

We did some paintballing over 10 years ago in abandoned defensive fortifications, it was fun but I was completely exhausted at the end of the day (we booked the camp for our private event) and had quite a few bruises too ... Also tried laser tag, but didn't enjoy it much at all... other than the futuristic feeling, it was very underwhelming.

Cool gear, but isn't it a bit boring to have such a long range rifle that's much better than anyone else's? I mean in an airsoft game, not an actual zombie outbreak
