Finally installed and started playing Star Wars: The Old Republic after I've been meaning to do it for years... Only did the first mission to get the general feel, but find it really enjoyable so far... Will see how it develops, might well be worth a subscription...

They fought twice against the Soviets during WWII, and while they technically lost and had to cede a significant part of their territory to the Soviet Union + pay reparations, they never actually lost their sovereignty. In fact, the Soviets suffered such heavy losses and humiliation by a tiny nation that their victory felt more like defeat and they abandoned their plans to incorporate Finland into the Soviet Union altogether. Fun history fact: The Finns perfected the use of petrol bombs in the Winter War and named it Molotov cocktail.

I mean, the nature of the process means that it does create harmful air emissions, that's not really debatable. I think the question is rather how bad it is, and if it can be kept at a low enough level by stricter regulations and controlling. As with everything, it's probably the matter of acceptable risks vs economical benefits.

Finally, some good financial news - the club has announced a 6 million profit in the last fiscal year. Might not seem like much, but for some context, we made a loss of almost 24 million in 2019/20, and of almost 9 million in 20/21, so this is a nice change which shows that we're making all the necessary steps back to financial stability. Definitely not an easy task, given the circumstances.

Finland was never a part of the Soviet Union. In their sphere of influence - yes, definitely. But they never lost their independence to the Soviets, and were never incorporated into the Soviet Union. Unless you meant the Russian Empire prior to WWI.

The biggest danger is contamination of groundwater with the toxic waste, which is obviously very, very bad.

They have now completed the purge and the warmup of the fuel line in hopes to reseal the leak and will try to resume the refill attempt again, this time starting at a lower pressure and then increasing it.
