  1. Yes, 40% for non-exclusive and 60% for exclusive stock images, plus an active promotion of my content to the target customers for 6 years. It's a new and project by a group of Asian photographers and artists, so I expect a very slow start, but what I like is that they are focused on selling specific content instead of generic stock images, as I think it has by far more potential than competing with big and already established microstock platforms.
  2. Cheers John! I'm naturally mistrusting and always wary about things like that, but a quick research suggests they are legit, and in the end, I don't have anything to lose considering I take those images as a hobby anyway... Might as well give it a go
  3. I have posted a few of my astrophotography images on social media recently, and have just received a partnership offer from a small media company that specialises in stock images Apparently, they want to me to regularly contribute astro-related images to them, with me earning a 60% commission. I am obviousy going to discuss terms and whatnot before I commit to it, but what are your thoughts? Decent opportunity to earn some passive pocket money?

    Literally crying
  5. It's a good thing they caught early though, at least no other on-pitch near-death emergency
  6. Jupiter is very bright tonight, and in conjunction with Moon (4 degrees). Looks amazing. I just observed that and the Perseids, great night for stargazing.
  7. Yeah, as it's well over +30 degrees during the day, so I'd probably just join the other dead there in the valley

Nah, I'm only half German, born and raised elsewhere, just spent summers in Germany as a kid/young teen. Moved to SE Asia 7 years ago because I like it there...

Southeast Asia:) I haven't been to Germany for over a decade, except airports.

This was intense It's mad how they go in there without any protection; no gloves, no long sleeves or long trousers, etc... Thanks for sharing, will watch more for sure. In my last permanent place of residence, we used to get quite a few snakes come near or even into the house. A few venomous ones in the area as well, so it's good to stay informed and ready, just in case... Had to get four snakes out of the bedroom and balcony using the kitchen tongs once One grownup and three juveniles; probably had a nest somewhere nearby.

Nope, had to google that, didn't know a show like that existed!

Where does your snake phobia come from?
  13. Going to hike the Valley of the Dead next week. Wish me luck!

Snakes are beautiful and fascinating animals.
  15. Niklas Schmidt wants to stay: https://www.kicker.de/schmidts-bekenntnis-sehr-gerne-fuer-einen-so-grossen-verein-weiterspielen-871714/artikel Give him a new contract, ffs! Love watching him play.
  16. At the moment there are simply no cheap and widely available solutions to significantly reduce the emissions of the shipping industry. In the future? Absolutely. The research into clean(er) fuels is still very young, and while there are some applications already, it will take a while to find the best alternative that is clean, has high energy density, and is affordable enough. Hydrogen, ammonia, methanol are probably the only realistic option at this point, but each of them also has specific disadvantages. The biggest issue imo is that the whole infrastructure will need to be changed, from how the ships and engines are built, to the fueling infrastructure in all the ports worldwide. This will certainly take time... Safe nuclear propulsion would be a dream, and new developments in nuclear technology should enable it, if the public accepts it. Molten salt reactors sound like a great prospect - non-weapon grade, low risk of explosions, operates at atmospheric pressure, no leaks of radioactive steam and cooling water, reduced size, generates much less and shorter-lived radioactive waste, higher efficiency, cheaper than conventional reactors, plentiful in nature, potential to consume nuclear waste.
  17. While I definitely agree that there's a lot of potentially dangerous implications in the use of AI, and things like facial recognition, biometrical idenitifcation, general surveillance, categorising people based on their behaviour, (social scoring systems) pose a huge threat to socal freedoms, this moratorium sounds just as vague and pointless as the UN.
  18. Nope, works fine for me.
  19. Also, let's not divert from the fact of how great Eastern Germany is. Brilliant report, @Tommy.
  20. Less than an hour on a speedster to Mos Eisley.
  21. It was a thing in the 90s, but then faded out and now there's only sporadic contact between various fan groups. It started properly in 1994 when both clubs met in DFB Pokal final and the fans of both sides had a massive party in Berlin
  22. Found an incredible documentary on how the mega diesel engines for ships are being built. German: English: The scale of it... Absolutely incredible. Not surprising for a 13600 HP monster, but still, it's amazing how much work and precision goes into it.
