A lot more white blokes on the Zimbabwe team than I expected. I thought all the white Zimbabweans had left the country many years ago.

This Asia Cup has been good. Pakistan Sri Lanka in the final. Another final over game between Pakistan Afghanistan.

On a side note it's good seeing Afghanistan and Bangladesh improve becoming more competitive but some players on their teams are so childish. Overly aggressive in tense moments and then immediately crying in case of loss.

Any sort of improvement on an international level is only good for the sport, however it is nice having charismatic players as well, and some countries do struggle to produce those sort of magnetic players, but that isn’t something that can be really controlled. I couldn’t say if Bangladesh or Afghanistan have had players that are just simply cool, like Muralithiran or Lara.

the weakest south African batting side in have seen in 3 decades, the talent coming through is limited.

the top 6 average 24.67 over 4 years making it the worst of all test playing nations bar Zimbabwe and West Indies.   the commentary makes out like it is amazing.   there are no batsmen averaging 40 lol

the fact that this team won a test match in England was a shock.  the top current nations ie: India, England and Australia can't win away to each other making it a stalemate.

Could argue that Shakib Al-Hasan for Bangladesh, Rashid Khan and more recently Mujeeb Ur Rahman for Afghanistan are those high profile trend-setters for their countries.

This bit is only true about ICC tournaments not in general and is exaggerated and I find in annoying. When we were really good we consistently rivaled the mighty West Indies, there is a reason why the 87-88 Windies Pak Test series is regarded as the greatest test series of all time by many and stats wise it shows we are next only to Aus Eng SA in win % and when we were really shit in mid 2010s we got consistently spanked with no intent to win.

You're probably right. I'm not overly familiar with them but it does take time to establish a personality cult.

It has been a season of overachieving more than anything,   the consensus around South african test cricket is that this is the weakest batting line up in 3 or 4 decades,  with no players averaging over 40 and the bulk of the middle order averaging between 20 and 30 which is about what Marco Jansen averages.   We have a few senior players that are probably to old to build on and since there is no real expectation to win we should really be bleeding in Rickelton, Brevis, Stubbs and a few of the promising bats in the domestic game which unfortunately is very limited.

Conversely we have a great generation of young talented bowling coming through,  South African cricket is now having a watershed moment of highly talented spin bowling options,  something that used to be  a swear word but it follows South African pitches becoming "spin friendly".

We don't play much test cricket for a year so it would be a wise idea to start playing a young core that will build together to hopefully be more skilled to compete in 2-3 years time.

My analogies between cricketers and football players

Chris Gayle = Ibrahimovic - journeyman, entertainer, extremely talented, attitude but with a sense of humor

Tendulkar = Pele - greatest name in his country and for many in the sport but some think others in his team were better

Warne = Maradona - GOAT, most inspiring, similar lifestyle, died young

Lara = Iniesta - elegant, respected by all

Inzamam = Peter Cech - overshadowed by giants who were better than him but doesn't negate how much great he was for his own team

Kohli = C Ronaldo - superstar, arrogant, easy to hate but good guy in the heart, going through a rough patch

Warner = Benzema - not a fan favorite and even looks like a snitch but a consistent performer

Afridi = Ramos - huge personality no matter what you may think of him

Kevin Peterson = Beckham - slightly overrated media darling

Ronaldo is a rapist

Warner is very inconsistent. Benzema doesn't go missing every time Real play an away game.

Ramos was actually a good player. Not a journeyman.

KP is the 3rd greatest English batsman of all time. Beckham was a handsome dude who was good at crosses.

Also. Crouch was tall inzi was fat, and Warne isn't even the greatest spinner much less greatest ever.

Who thinks other players (presumably batsmen) were better than Tendulkar in that team? Not to mention 'that' team could be different considering the length of his career.

Rahul Dravid a common shout. There are other claims about Tendulkar that he wasn't a match winning player, a lot of his tons weren't fruitful for the team similar claims about Pele's goal scoring records.

I mean, everyone knows Peles goals in favela friendlies are on his record and it's BS

That, I know.

The comparison to (some of) Tendulkar's centuries being meaningless or that he wasn't a match-winning player is what I don't agree with.

Benzena went missing for ten fucking years mate. One good season and you forget that. He also fucks underage prostitutes.

KP was South African and would have played for any team that had no or few black players, and Beckham is underrated if anything.

Warnie is the GOAT.

Your opinion is like Victor Wanyama’s opinion of Paranormal Activity 3, it goes in the bin.

He fucking sucked for years. He was one of the worst player I’ve ever seen at Euros in 2012. No one said anything about the ballon for your Blubbering sunflowers

Sure. He was woeful at Euro 2012. I remember. France had got there by playing him as a conventional striker then they tried to play like spain in the tournament.
But with few exceptions he was brilliant for Real, beat out that fat Argentinian for the striker spot. You don't play for Madrid for over a decade by being shit. Your argument is shit.

Yes he's a creepy piece of shit. Hell of a footballer. And WAY above the level of Warner within his own sport.
