Milan in that bad a financial situation then?

I thought most Italian clubs were heavily riddled with debt. The bigger clubs more so.

Raiola was asking for a €20 million fee for the renewal. Seems like he also didn't get the €8m / season he was asking for. Milan, primarily Maldini, cut bait early and moved onto signing another goalkeeper instead.

At some point they couldn't keep giving into ludicrous demands from a player.

Leonardo is such a bad sporting director.

Everyone knew that Donnarumma and Raiola were going to let his contract expire, so why did he offer a contract extension to Navas? I mean, if you´re planning to go all in on Donnarumma, it doesn´t make sense to re-sign your current goalkeeper.

Navas has every right to feel betrayed.

Having said that, in my opinion both Donnarumma and Courtoais are better than Navas. The reason? Height.

To me, Navas, despite having great reflexes, is too short for a goalkeeper. At least, according to the present standards.

EDIT: This pic puts what I said about Keylor´s height in perspective.
