Read an F1 blog. She was saying there will be rain on Saturday and Sunday. She added that the rain will create a lack of grip on the circuit. Oh her.

Well, she's not wrong.

Mercedes have been faster (in dry qualifying) at least than Red Bull in Hungary, Italy and Russia. It's quite a sustained run of form for them having the better car at a variety of tracks. Max has been 3-4 tenths off at some of them. It was level really at the Dutch Grand Prix and who knows who really had the faster package in Belgium?

It's got to be cause for concern for Red Bull. Verstappen has a chance tomorrow because we know Bottas has been far from clinical in the last two years. If Max gets ahead at the start he probably wins but Lewis probably has the pace this weekend to get past everyone else and then have Bottas move aside to get him P2.

Mexico is the obvious "Red Bull" track left because the Mercedes engine has never liked the altitude there, then Austin will most likely be in Hamilton's favour. The rest are unknown quantities and if Red Bull were losing out by 0.1s or 0.2s per lap at these tracks then you could remain a bit optimistic but they haven't been that close this weekend, nor were they in Monza or Hungary. Also Perez is absolutely AWOL while Bottas is getting himself in the mix. Hamilton has the more useful team mate, the experience and his nose in front. If it turns out he has the faster car for most of the remaining races it's going to be really difficult for Verstappen.

It's so tough to call. Tomorrow you could see Hamilton get up to 6th on the first lap and Max get stuck behind Leclerc for the first stint or you could see Max take the lead and Hamilton get swiped by someone and lose his front wing. Every little thing changes the balance of which way it might go. It's great to be honest!

How good will the Mercedes be in so much traffic? If all stay in position for the first lap the first couple of cars should be easy for Lewis. After that he may encounter problems. The next 2 are Perez and Norris who'll put up resistance. Out of the 2 Norris will be tough. Lewis in Monza during the sprint and the actual race found him a tough nut to crack, as he did in Sochi.

If these 2 or both hold Lewis up for a long time. Then the others may pull away and he may only finish around 5th. But this is all in hindsight, anything can happen.

Is it true Lewis has an upgrade this weekend? Some sort of wing?
