nudge Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 MRT screening confirmed Toprak's muscle and tendon injury; he'll be out for about 6 weeks. It's getting ridiculous. 1 Quote
nudge Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 We're apparently looking into signing Gladbach's Michael Lang. Wouldn't be the worst of transfers; a reliable right back who can also help out in CB or even in LB if need be. Not the most spectacular one but I don't think we're in a position to complain at this point. Quote

I think that he is a good purchase for Werder, but I do think that they need to bring in one more defender at least, to help alleviate their injury crisis. Quote

Doubt we'll sign any more defenders; we already spent around 15 million this summer (including Lang) and if we don't manage to get Bentaleb from Schalke I don't think we will sign anyone else before the window closes. Times are obviously hard at Werder right now. Not much time before the window closes either, but they do certainly need at least 1 more new defensive addition in my opinion. You are probably right, Bentaleb is probably the last new transfer for Werder this summer, that is if they actually manage to get him. Quote
nudge Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Lang deal is officially done! A one-year loan with an option to buy. Perfect really; if he does well we can always make the deal permanent but this gives us freedom to look for a young talent to be Gebre Selassie's replacement for the future. Quote
nudge Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 We're about to sign Leonardo Bittencourt Used to be one of the players I loved to watch when he was still at Köln, we wanted him last year already but he chose Hoffenheim... It looks like the deal is as good as done now. Love it how it's another attacking player who needs defending anyway. Quote

SchalkeUK Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 It may increase your BP but it's not just Schaaf policy it is paying off for Kloppy at Liverpool - let in 2 and score 5 always works! Quote
nudge Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Kevin Möhwald had to undergo a knee surgery and will be out for the rest of the year. Quote
nudge Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Moisander is now also injured and out of the next match against Union. Seriously it's ridiculous! We only have 1 centre back left; two if you count Groß (who I hope will start the match). Quote
nudge Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Oh and Maxi Eggestein is now injured too I give up. Quote

At this rate I am sure that Union Berlin will beat Werder tomorrow. They beat Dortmund 3-1(although it has to be noted that Dortmund's defending was bad that day) and I think that it is more than likely that they will win again at home against injury ravaged Werder. The Berlin crowd and the Union team will see Werder there for the taking. Werder literally now have half their squad out injured, talk about bad luck! Quote

nudge Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Groß will get his debut in the starting XI in the Bundesliga match today So happy for him; he's been playing in lower divisions for all of his career and now finally gets a chance in the top league at 30 years old at least something positive from our injury crisis. Quote
nudge Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Nice article on Christian Groß: https://www.weser-kurier.de/werder/werder-bundesliga_artikel,-warum-sollte-ich-ihn-zurueckschicken-_arid,1860440.html Kohfeldt said he will definitely stay in the first team at least until the winter break. What a fairytale for him Quote
nudge Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Aaaaaand the next one: Yuya Osako has picked up a serious injury during training today. This season is a bad joke. 1 Quote

Devil-Dick Willie Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 This is reminding me of 2010/11. A year I had scrubbed from my memory. The great exodus, the great "Loan in every player in the world available because we can't field a team" year. Fuck. My. Life. At least we have 6 pts Quote
Rucksackfranzose Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Werder are definitely jinxed, today Füllkrug had to be transported from the pitch with a golf cart during training. the amount of injuries picked up from Bremen's player this season is unbelievable. 1 Quote

Doesn't look good either considering that's the same knee he had a surgery on just a while ago that kept him out for over 5 months. Just awful. Quote
