So it can be included in quadruple chat but if it is won, it now doesn't count xD

Liverpool could win the CL ten years in a row and Dodgy Dick would still find something to criticise.

We were literally 20 minutes from winning the league and a Real Madrid goalkeeping man of the match performance away from winning the lot... and he's still adamant we were shit xD

That Fulham Twitter response is great.

Pep said something just absurd when his team failed to score at Selhurst last season. Both pretty terrible losers.

I thoroughly enjoy the mental gymnastics tbh xD

Don't all the top coaches all sound like petty terrible losers? Klopp, Pep, Mourinho, Conte, Ferguson, Wenger, I could probably go on but those are the names of people who love a moan whenever they lose (and sometimes even when they win). Some managers aren't/were never that good and even they could be petty arseholes when they lost xD

These are probably some of the most competitive people in the business, so I expect them to be petty and aggrieved when things don't go their way tbh.

It's like when they spout off bollocks to take pressure off their players instead of blaming them. And here he did flat out blame the players calling them out for playing like shit - so it was also probably a bit of "I don't blame you completely" and taking some pressure off them after publicly criticising them.

Oh yeah, its definitely a part of there competitive edge. It's just hilarious for a neutral to hear them spout such crap.

It's for sure funny, but I don't get why some people on the internet seem to get so worked up by it (not so much on here, but twitter... and I guess the answer there is "it's fucking twitter so it's a sea of morons") - it's not like managers saying outrageous things when they lose is something really new or even that shocking. Especially when we live in an era where people in football say things like "Napoli won't be signing any African players unless they refuse to represent their country in international tournaments" ... which is an actually outrageous and surprising comment.

I didn't say anything about the quadruple.

You did say we had "nothing to show" for our season though. Even though we won 2 trophies... which is 2 more trophies than most other clubs in the country would have won and their fans would be happy about it.

"I don't care about those trophies" that's nice - but a lot of people do, and I'm glad we've won them.

I think if any fan is upset about a club having an incredible season where they win all the domestic cups they can win, take the title race down to the wire against a club that's got a budget greater than a lot of countries GDPs, and lost a CL final they played well in but were stopped by one of the best CL goalkeeping performances I can remember... that person probably isn't really a fan of that club.

And if they're trying to convince fans of that club to be upset by having what was an incredible season... they should probably expect to have those views laughed off.

Just my opinion.

You're satisfied with the results of last season then, given your high level of performance?  I doubt it. Of course you'd rather have beaten Chelsea in the 2 finals than lost, but if I asked you if you wanted to cash both those trophies in for a CL or prem, you'd do it in half a heartbeat. You won 2 consolation prizes, as I said again, trophies for Arsenal or Spurs fans to get excited about.

Yeah no shit if I could trade two trophies for "the big ones" I'd fucking do that - I never said they all had the same weight. It's still 2 more trophies than the other clubs in England could have won last season... and all fans, regardless of who they support, should be happy when they see their team win an actual trophy.

We're not all Teso Dos Bichos, we don't just need the highest of high points to enjoy the other high points of supporting a football team.

And if you see your club win two trophies and actually go all the way and realistically compete for all trophies they can possibly win... and you don't enjoy that season... you've probably got furious depression that needs treatment ASAP. Because it's sad if you can't enjoy your club winning something.

Especially the FA Cup xD - literally the blueprint for all cup tournaments in football.

I didn't say you couldn't enjoy the season! xD Fuck me my team finished 2nd and you better believe I enjoyed it!

But this is a purple patch in liverpools history and you've got a CL trophy and a prem to show for it! Which is awesome, my club hasn't won shit since 2004 and likely never will win anything again in this corporate new world, but City just get more and more efficient and their pockets run deeper and deeper as their market capitalization gets larger and larger. In 5-10 years the EPL will be no different to the Bundesliga. 1 hyper efficient club who stands head and shoulders above the rest winning everything for a decade or more. You surely want your club to cash in while it can, and having been on the cusp of a legendary season, and coming up with nothing but the 'insert sponsor of the decade' redundant cup and the Fuck All cup must have been bitterly disappointing.

City have already Bayern-ified the league tbh. And before them, there was a time where United won it every year except 2 years with Arsenal winning it. Chelsea only really shook things up when Putin's pen-pal showed up.

I went 30 decades where we'd largely be shit in the league, with some decent years thrown in (but with us never winning it), and the best I could hope for really was good cup runs.

So I'll take seasons like last season over the shit I've experienced most of my life any day.

Mate if you watched the interview it’s about a 5 second comment over 4 minutes of talking about how shit they were. Just classic Clickbait media

Not at all. Yeah, he said it as he offered up other excuses and explanations, but it's not out of context or anything. He cried because the pitch was dry.
