Honey Honey Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Wilson out. So either Wood or we go straight in with Isak. Knowing Howe it will be Wood with Isak on the bench.

Administrator Stan Posted August 28, 2022 Author Administrator Posted August 28, 2022 No Wilson, Isak, or Guimaraes today for Newcastle. Mings out for Villa.
Tar-Mairon Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Newcastle should get the most blatant penalty you will see and VAR does nothing.
Danny Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Lovely goal from Wolves, deserved lead. They are playing some highly technical football bouncing the ball from midfield to the wing, back to the other wing, Man City level of control in those moments.

Honey Honey Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 The problem here again is the final decision. Same problem against Forest and Brighton. We have the possession, we even have 9 shots away from home in the first half yet we don't really look like we will score. I also look forward to when we can have Dan Burn at centre half again.
Machado Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Don't really see players shooting from outside the box in top flight football, let alone score so consistently. Rare breed Neves. Newcastle could have had a couple. Entertaining match.
Honey Honey Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Looking at the bench we don't have much to call on
Honey Honey Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Whilst Longstaff has made some good interceptions he gives it away cheaper than middle Lidl
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 28, 2022 Subscriber Posted August 28, 2022 Second goal disallowed. VAR doing its job but laughable that the foul wasn't given in real time there. Absolutely blatant.
Danny Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Clear as day foul but it's stupid to allow actual fouls off and then pull them back if you can VAR it
OrangeKhrush Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Without Wilson it doesn't look like we will score a goal in 500 minutes.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 28, 2022 Subscriber Posted August 28, 2022 Saint-Maximin smashes in a spectacular volley.
Administrator Stan Posted August 28, 2022 Author Administrator Posted August 28, 2022 What a strike! Saint-Maximin with a brilliant volley. Class.
OrangeKhrush Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Good heart, we don't deserve to lose on stats, and being without Wilson, Isak and Bruno we have had to scrape the barrel when it comes to players. I will take a draw all things considered, then we go to Liverpool which not much expectation there.
Administrator Stan Posted August 28, 2022 Author Administrator Posted August 28, 2022 Woah, Newcastle hit the bar!
OrangeKhrush Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 A year ago we would have rolled over, maybe had like 3 shots all game. A difference a year makes
Administrator Stan Posted August 28, 2022 Author Administrator Posted August 28, 2022 Free kick Newcastle right on the edge of the box. Up step Mr Trippier...
Honey Honey Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Frustrating game with a good ending. End of the day the front 6 lacked quality but it is the same players as 2 years ago, except downgrading Wilson massively to Wood. So to go there, have 64% possession and have 21 shots is still progress. Would Bruno and Wilson have been enough to win this one? I don't know because Wolves are very resolute defensively, and we are missing something in attack this season even with them. So is Isak the answer? First defeat of the season coming on Wednesday then we need to bounce straight back at home to Palace.

Bruno would have made a big difference controlling the game from the midfield while Longstaff struggled making 5 yard passes.
